Kmart-limit on coupons & CVS refused coupon on raincheck

First, just wanted to make sure that everyone is aware of the new limit on coupons at Kmart superdoubles. It used to be 75 coupons, no more than 4 of the same coupon. They have since lowered it to 25 coupons, per customer, per day. Whether they’ll actually hold customers to this limit remains to be seen, but be prepared. I think I will sit this one out. There’s nothing to really get excited about and I don’t have plans to be in that direction this week.

Last fall, CVS offered one of the L’oreal Revitalift cremes for 11.99 with 11.99 back in ECBs. They were out when I got there, so I got a raincheck. Last week at the coupon scanner, I got a coupon for $3 off this product, and I had a $2 mfr coupon for it, so I thought with it being a $5 moneymaker, it would be a good time to redeem that raincheck. The cashier supervisor refused to take my mfr coupon for this item, saying that “I was already getting it for free.” Oh well, I still made $3 on the deal. But this is new. If I had been able to purchase the item when it was originally on sale with the ECBs, they would have taken coupons along with it, as I have done many, many times.

Lisa, I would call customer care just to double check.

Back when they were having this exact promo was when I first started cvs-ing. They were out of it and I asked an employee if I could get a raincheck. She said, NO becuase it’s a free item. I called customer care and asked–glad I did. They sent me a raincheck for the revitalift. I had just started couponing too, so I didn’t have a coupon…

With all that being said… why would they take the CVS coupon and refuse the mfr coupon? That doesn’t make sense.

The way most cvs’s are doing rainchecks now, you should be able to use coupons. I’ve used rainchecks a few times over the last few weeks and they ring up the item and then you pay for it, then they enter a code for the ecb and they print out.
