Jan 30 inserts-Smartsource & P&G-reverse matchups

Lots of other blogs and websites post a store’s sales ad and then match up what coupons are available. I do it on here sometimes. But a phrase I hear so often from new couponers is “I look at the Sunday coupons and I just don’t see anything I’d use.” So I’m going to do a short recap of the coupons, and what deals they could be used for, and what sales I’m potentially going to keep my eyes open for.

To make the most of couponing, I like to think of it in terms of baseball. I know I heard this analogy first on hcw, but I don’t remember who gets the credit.

Items on sale: single
Items on sale + coupon: double
Items on sale + coupon + rewards back: triple (by rewards back I mean either a grocery catalina, Walgreen’s Register Rewards, Rite Aid UPs rewards, CVS Extra Bucks, Target gift cards, etc.)
Items on sale + coupon + rewards back + mail in rebate: home run

There are other things of course, such as e-savings you load on to a card and overage for a coupon (getting full dollar amount for coupon even though product may cost less than that) and getting shelf price credit for an item but only paying sale price (such as in some grocery catalina deals).

It’s really simple if you think of it in those terms. Once I have a coupon for an item, I just keep my eyes open for other deals to just keep stacking.

First, the P&G insert, as a whole. Kmart and CVS are both running P&G promos this coming week, and Superfresh has some of the items on sale.

Some of the P&G coupons individually:

Cover Girl coupons-CG is bogo next week at Walgreen’s and I saw a ton of it on clearance at CVS.

Olay bogo coupons-the body wash one, I’d watch Dollar General to see if it goes back to $2, so you pay $2 for a body wash and a moisturizer. The Olay bar one-go to Walmart or Target and look for the single Olay bars that are $0.97, so that you pay only $0.97 for a bar of soap and deodorant.

Natural Instincts $2 coupon–I like this haircolor and it often goes on sale bogo at places like CVS and Walgreen’s, and you can use two coupons.

Crest coupons-CVS and Walgreen’s run promos on these all the time. Acme frequently has Crest toothpaste for $1, or free after coupon. The small pack of floss can often be found for $1 or less, making it free.

Fusion-CVS and Walgreen’s frequently run promos on these that make them almost free after the $4 coupon.

Pampers-I’m always hunting down diaper deals. If you don’t want to be bothered with rewards programs and stuff, I’d take it to Kmart next week for superdoubles.

Pringles-I don’t eat them but I see deals on them all the time at Dollar General.

Smartsource inserts:

KY coupons on front-around Valentine’s day, this stuff goes on promo, lol. And notice that the $2 one has the word “any” on it, so check Walmart for trial sizes for under $2 to get free or overage.

$1 el monterey-I just saw these on sale at Superfresh

Tostitos-keep in mind that for those of us in NJ/DE/PA, it will double to 1.10 at most stores

Softsoap-that goes on sale all the time, everywhere, for $1. $0.65 after coupon, it will not double.

Palmolive-it’s on sale at DG for $1, if it’s the right variety.

Several pages of GM/BTFE coupons-Acme and Superfresh regularly run catalina promos on this brand. This week’s assortment is a good one, lots of $x.xx off of ones, that will double.

$2 off 2 Hershey’s-find another coupon and take it to Kmart for superdoubles.

Nature Made-I’ve been talking about Nature made all month, on sale everywhere plus mail in rebates. Do a blog search for more info.

Snapple $1-it’s a conagra product and $1 off 1 is a good coupon to have if they run a conagra promo at Acme.

Dannon-will go on sale at Acme and Superfresh for 10 for 5 or 10 for 6, maybe even 10 for 4.

Tabasco-$.50 coupon will double at Acme, where it is frequently on sale for $1.

Sargento-on sale plus store coupons at SF/PM

Reynold’s-often on sale at Walgreen’s for a good price, freebie days are over unfortunately.

I don’t get my Red Plum until Monday!
