Welcome to another weekly edition of Fashion Friday. Normally, I bring you 5 great deals on fashion, in an effort to make us all more fashionable while remaining budget friendly. But this week, going to mix it up a little. I’ve enlisted the help of several fashion blogger friends, and I asked them–what are some tips that you would give for spring & summer fashion? How can we be extra hip, but still be budget conscious? Below are their responses.
~Buy multiples. If I find an item that fits me well, I usually buy it in more than one color. Sometimes there is also a discount if you buy two or more of an item. Jessica at FoundTheMarbles.
~Splurge on the solids and staple pieces that you can wear and pair for different looks and spend much less on trendy items. A well made maxi can be dressed up or down for versatility in the summer. Angie at AMarieBeauty.
~I love shopping the outlets! Premium Outlets have locations around the country and always have specials and deals running. We shop the Children’s Place at the beginning of each season and get great deals. I love their stuff because all their outfits can be mixed and matched. Paola at ModestlyChicStyle.
~Don’t be afraid of thrift stores! It took me a while to get past the smell and general disorder, but I LOVE them now. I go about once a week or so and I’ve found some really cute items (Hello, chambray shirt!) that I now wear the heck out of. Tiffany at HaveBreakfastWithTiffany.
~For pieces like bathing suit coverups, maxi dresses and accessories, hit up stores you might normally skip. Forever 21, H&M and Charlotte Russe are fabulously on trend and while we moms often can’t fit into their jeans, we can fit their chic earrings! Also, pick 3 or 4 key pieces you want and work with those – these are my favorites! Melissa at AllThingsChic.
~I started shopping locally. I found an awesome jewelry designer for statement earrings and necklaces under $20! I also found a high end local designer consignment shop where I scored $189 Paige jeans for $65! I love how I am surprised at what I find each time I shop there with an open mind. Jodi at BlushMamas.
Great advice, huh? I hope it helps. Next week, we’ll return to your regularly scheduled fashion deals.
