Diaper Sales/Prices this week, March 27

Need diapers? Going to try a new weekly feature where I highlight diaper prices at the big stores. Going to focus on Huggies & Pampers, will post Luvs or store brands if there is a deal. If it says “no ad” behind it, it means that there is no special advertised for the week, and unless we see otherwise, should assume they will be regular price.

Current coupons:

Huggies- Printables (high value ones too, $2 & $3!); 3/20 inserts, also many home mailers & such listed in database

Pampers-P&G hardly ever ever does printables; 2/27 inserts

PRICES

Kmart-advertising both brands-Pampers Cruisers value pack or Huggies Supreme 72–116-ct. diapers for $29.99, through 4/2

Genuardi’s (Safeway)-big box of Pampers/Huggies, $17.99 with $10 minimum purchase and in-ad coupon

Walgreen’s-store brand jumbo packs on sale for 5.99-use the $2 coupon from the Baby Booklet, get them for $3.99-remember, ask if you can have the coupon back after they scan it, they are allowed to hand it back to you for re-use, but it’s still very much YMMV (your mileage may vary) as far as whether or not they’l give it to you. Ends 4/2.

Walgreen’s-Big Packs, no count listed, both Huggies & Pampers-$19.99, through 4/2.

Walgreen’s-Huggies tubs of wipes, 2 for $5, through 4/2.

Walgreen’s-big refill packs of store brand wipes, $4.99, through 4/2.

Target-no diapers in ad, through 4/2.

Superfresh-highlighting several baby items, including a $5 catalina offer when you spend $50 on Pampers/Luvs diapers & wipes; also lots of e-savings on Zavers to stack with mfr coupons, through 3/31.

Pampers big packs-19.99, Pampers wipes refills-5.99; America’s Choice Jumbo pack diapers-6.99, wipes 1.99; don’t forget to check your e-savings for additional offers-I frequently get Pampers/Kandoo items on there, through 3/31.

Big Lots-none advertised, they don’t take mfr coupons but generally run a dollar or two cheaper than the other stores, so if you don’t have coupons, I’d buy them here. No end date listed.

Giant, through 4/2: Pampers jumbo packs listed for $8.99, these are also a part of a “Buy 4, save $.20 per gallon” gas deal.

Acme- Big boxes of Huggies & Pampers, all varieties-19.99; Huggies & Pampers wipes refills 5.99

CVS-no deals/sales listed.

Diapers can be one of the most expensive household expenses for a grocery budget. Bring a calculator to the store with you (or if you have one on your phone) and see what you’re paying per diaper. From this Extreme Couponer’s point of view, these are the prices I aim for-

Anything under $0.10 per diaper-that is my stock up price and I would max out on the deal.

$0.10-$0.18 per diaper-good price, I’d get pretty many at that rate, depending on how many I had in my stockpile and what I needed.

Higher than $0.18-only if I absolutely needed them, and would get just enough to last me until I find a deal.

Wipes-I really try to stick to a penny per wipe or less. A penny to 1.5 cents per wipe, I’ll get some if my stockpile is running low. Any higher than that, only if I absolutely need them. To put it into perspective–your average tub of 72 wipes, I really don’t want to pay more than $0.75-$1.00 for it.

Amazon diaper deal-Old posts here and here, if you want to learn how to do that offer. Or ask! But from what I’m reading, it appears that the newer issues of the various parenting magazines that carried the diaper codes, they are not in the new issues. So this deal may be ending 3/31. Get what you can at those low rates–I know that via that offer, I paid about $0.04 per diaper, shipped!

Comments

  1. I’m hoping for a good deal on Huggies before the IPs expire. DD2 needs them desperately!

  2. There are $1.50 off blinkies for one pack of Huggies Snug & dry, no size limit at the Walgreens in Kennett. Not as good as the IP’s, but their expiration date is 5/8/11.
