~Vote daily to win $75 for your favorite Donors Choose project~ends February 4.

Welcome to Part 2 of this awesome giveaway! For the past two days, I’ve been taking your suggestions on which project to give the $75 to. At first, I was nervous because no one posted any suggestions. Then, they started to trickle in……and I liked all the ideas. It was really hard to choose. Then I made a mental note, that if I had less than 25 entries, I would include them all. Then as that number crept closer to 25, I wondered who I would cut if I had too. Then, once again, I just decided I would include them all. So here they are. I felt they all deserved a chance. They all tugged at my heartstrings. Most are from very high poverty areas, many are special needs classrooms or both special needs and high poverty.

About Donors Choose: Approximately 40 percent of schools across the U.S. use DonorsChoose.org, an innovative online charity that makes it easy for anyone to help students in need.  Public school teachers across the country post specific requests to support their classroom projects, ranging from pencils for a poetry writing unit, to violins for a school recital, to microscope slides for a biology class.  Visitors to the website decide which project they would like to support and DonorsChoose.org delivers materials to the school once a project reaches its funding goal. And Savings.com is helping you make your money go further when you give back to a school in need.

Use the gift code SAVINGS anytime between January 27 and February 24 on Donorschoose.org/savings, and Donors Choose will match your donation up to $100. Please look at the projects, and not just vote, but consider giving a small donation. Remember, Savings.com is going to match it!

The prize for this giveaway is as follows: I’m donating $25, which Savings.com will match. Donors Choose is also donating a $25 gift card, which brings the total to $75. Contest ends at midnight on February 4. You may vote for one project, once a day.

I’m giving away $75 to *your* project on Donors Choose!

I am very, very excited about this giveaway. I have partnered with Donors Choose and Savings.com to give your project $75 towards their goal. Each of those three parties (me, Savings, Donors Choose) are throwing $25 into the pot.

Have you ever used Donors Choose or checked out the site and how it works? It’s a very cool concept. Go to their projects page and you can either search or browse the various projects. There are several search options–zip code, cause, level of need and so on. When you are viewing projects, you’ll see that some projects have corporate matching options next to them–if you pledge to help that project, a corporation may be offering to match your donation.

So how do you win? Well, we need to get to the first step. For the next 48 hours only, now until 9 PM EST on Thursday night–you leave a comment on this blog, listing the link to your specific project on Donors Choose and why I should choose them. One entry per person please. I will look at the entries, and pick ten. Then, beginning Friday morning, I will post another blog entry where you can vote for your project. You can vote daily from January 27-February 4.

I will be choosing the ten projects based on need, poverty level, and well, to be honest–I do have a softspot for kids with special needs and projects in the Philadelphia area. That’s not to say if you don’t live near here that you shouldn’t try–because if I get less than ten entries, you’re automatically in for voting.

The voting will be done on Rafflecopter and I’ll explain the specifics in that post when it’s done.

Please note that all comments on this blog are moderated due to heavy spamming, so your comment may not immediately appear.

Please note–depending on number of entries, I may raise the number beyond 10. However, it will not be less than 10, unless we don’t receive 10 entries.

Win a $100 GC to Picaboo~ends 1/31.

In my basement, I have two huge bins of scrapbooking supplies. Nice stuff, too! I started buying it right before my first son was born, and there it sits. I just don’t have the time, nor make the time for scrapbooking, as much as I like the look of it. I did one nice book of a trip we took to Hawaii in 2003…..and the stuff hasn’t been touched since. One reason I don’t use it is the ease and availability of the online photo sites, and you all know how much I love a good photo deal.

Over the holidays, Eversave ran a deal for Picaboo. Picaboo is definitely one of my favorite photo sites. Their products are just spectacular, and the deal from Eversave was awesome. If you think you missed out on that offer, think again–here is your chance to get it. I’m giving away a $100 gift code (exp 3/31/12) to Picaboo. You can gather up all of your back to school, Halloween or holiday photos and make a great collection. Or think ahead to Mothers’ Day or a birthday. Whatever the occasion, Picaboo will have something for you.

This is an easy entry contest–5 ways to enter, all are optional. I’m not working with any other bloggers on this one, so it’s just for followers of Smart Spending Spot. Remember that if you are new to Eversave, your account will instantly be credited with $2. If you’re not new to Eversave, just leave the email address of your account and you can still enter.
