Walgreen’s Goodies:

Overall not a bad trip. They were out of the Glade spray I blogged about and their Kellogg’s selection was not that great. Also, I had a diaper coupon that wouldn’t work, so I ended up paying $2 more for this transaction than I had planned. I had the Register Rewards from the diaper deal in July, and they all were going to expire on Friday, so I had to use them up. I’m a teacher, so I’m always on the hunt for cheap school supplies.

Got back $11.58 in ECBs for buying the Children’s Advil. A gain of about $2 in ECBs, plus a bag of good stuff!

At Walgreen’s I spent $2 cash. At CVS I had a gain of $2 ECBs. (in my mind, ECBs and RRs are almost as significant as cash, I treat them like money) And at Walgreen’s I gained $5 RRs, so overall this morning, I had a $5 gain–plus all that stuff!

Glade: At Walgreen’s. Fabric & Air Odor Eliminator (their version of Febreze), use the coupon in the August booklet, found at front of store and combine that coupon with this coupon and it will be free. You can print 2. If you’re going for the free photos tomorrow, might as well toss this into your cart.

Dawn: The coupons from this Sunday’s insert are for $1 off two. Pretty good, since we usually only get $0.20 coupons for this. Dawn is $0.99 at Walgreen’s this week and $0.88 at CVS, so you’ll pay either $0.38 or $0.49 after coupon. For Walgreen’s you need the coupon on the back page of the weekly circular in addition to the mfr coupon from the paper.

If you were one of the lucky ones to get the bogo coupon in your Sunday inserts, Cover Girl makeup is bogo at CVS this week. It is CVS’s corporate policy to accept a bogo coupon in conjunction with a bogo sale, but as always, ymmv. The store manager/supervisor can choose not to honor it.

I have never had any trouble using bogo coupons and sales together at Jennersville, Kennett or Landenberg.

Unfortunately, this coupon was not in the Philly Inquirer Proctor & Gamble insert, but it was in either the Daily Local or the Delaware News Journal, not sure which one.

It looks like we’re coming up on a few slow weeks at CVS. Only a few freebies and stuff to get excited about. Again, remember I pay for my items with ECBs, so when I say free, it’s because I’m rolling my ECBs.

Crest/Oral B: items are $2.49, and you get $1.50 back in ECBs, thus final cost $0.99. There are $1 coupons in today’s paper, so use those to make your items free. Limit 5 per card. That’s for both–not 5 toothpastes and 5 toothbrushes, 5 combined total.

Children’s/Infant Advil: This is actually on the front cover of the monthly book, it’s a month-long deal. Pay $5.79, get $5.79 back in ECBs. Print your $1 coupon here to make yours $4.79 with $5.79 back. It says limit 1, but several shoppers are reporting the actual limit is 2. Check the bottom of your receipt after you purchase. If you are done, it will say “Offer Limit Reached.” It may be a glitch that they’ll fix.

Folgers: twin pack is $6.99 with $3.00 back, final cost $3.99. It is limit 2. The coupons in today’s paper are $1 off 2. That’s the cheapest I’ve seen this for a while.

Almay: select cosmetics, check circular, are $8.99 with $5 ecb back. There are $1 coupons in today’s paper, making final cost $2.99. There will be better deals than this down the road, if history repeats itself, but $2.99 is a good price if there is something you need and can’t wait.

Colgate: also is .99 after ECBs. So if you have coupons, it will be free.

Energy drinks: Extreme energy shots are $4.99 with $4.99 back. Limit 1 per card. Almost a year ago, there was a money-making deal on these, so I had several of them. I never drank one but my husband did. Apparently they taste like cough syrup. I gave them to a friend who works the overnight shift, she said the same–they taste terrible but they do work if you need them.

In any event, if you have a $10 ecb to roll and you want to do it, the energy drink will work. You could do that plus the advil and a toothpaste.
