CVS-*Hot* freebie or small mm–ends today!

I needed a little bit of me time this morning, so I grabbed my coupon binder and told hubby “I’m going to CVS.” His response was “What do you do there for so long?”

Well, I can’t afford regular retail therapy, ha ha. So this is my time. I love just wandering around the store seeing what really cheap and free stuff I can get with coupons. And here’s what I found–

It ends tonight, but there’s a Revlon deal, get $7 in Extra Bucks when you buy any two cosmetics or tools. That’s right, my favorite word-ANY. And, so, looked at the tools and sure enough there are several options to choose from that are $2-$3. I didn’t have any Revlon coupons, but it will be an even better deal if you do. I chose two pairs of the nail clippers at $2.99 each and did get $7 back. This was at the Landenberg store.

Makeup: My main reason for going was that I wanted to check out the makeup clearance. Getting free makeup and hair stuff with coupons is actually what got me started couponing almost 20 years ago and it’s still my favorite. Revlon had the most markdowns and much was 75% off. The best part……….PEELIES! Some of the clearanced makeup had $2 and $3 peelies on it. I did the math in my head and the lipgloss will be $0.35 after clearance and peelie. I didn’t care for any of the colors but they had several options. I got four or five different things for about 90% off. Neutrogena is marked down 50% and there is a $2 coupon in today’s (tomorrow’s) paper.  Many of the Olay items were marked down 75% and I had $5 coupons that were home mailers, but I’m pretty sure there were $2 and $5 coupons in the 12/26 inserts. And…don’t forget to join the new beauty club that CVS has to offer. The Landenberg store has a little tearpad near the register; you just tear one off, hand it to the cashier with your extra care card. She scans both and it automatically enrolls you and then it spits out a 10% off all cosmetics coupon. Do that first as a separate transaction before you purchase your clearance makeup. It did take the 10% off of clearance, as I got $3.30 off with that coupon, which means I had $33 worth of makeup which would be about correct. Of course I didn’t pay $33, but that’s the fun of it.  I had a great time and getting new makeup is a sure way to brighten a blah winter day, imo.

Excedrin: Today is also the last day of the Excedrin Extra Bucks deal, spend $20, get $10 back. Is reported to work on $19.96, not $20. If you didn’t get your freebie/5.99 coupons yet in the mail, I had several $2.50 coupons in my binder from an insert-they are in the 12/05 inserts and today’s (tomorrow’s) paper. Excedrin is my otc pain reliever of choice, so I got some.

Between the small moneymaker, the almost free makeup and free excedrin, I had a great hour wandering the store.

CVS makeup clearance

Reading about this all over the web–CVS has already done their January makeup markdowns and it’s 75% off already. Grab your coupon binder and head on over for some very cheap makeup. Or, before you go, do a web search on your favorite brands & see if there are online printables, or check PrintableCouponSpot.

Excedrin at CVS

The week beginning 1/2, CVS is running a promo on Excedrin. Spend $20, get $10 Extra Bucks back. If you’ve ordered the free Excedrin coupons in the mail, this is probably a good time to use them. Unfortunately if you didn’t order them when I posted it, the offers are no longer available. I hope mine get here in time!

Remember that the $20 threshhold is based on sale price, but it’s before coupons. I have $12 in Extra Bucks to spend, so I’m hoping to use my coupons, the Extra Bucks and get my Extra Bucks back. Free Excedrin!

My Wednesday morning

It’s Wednesday, and I’m heading out in a few with the boys. Not too much to get excited about during my free hour without them. And I never got ads last week with my mail so all I’ve had to go by is what’s posted online. I much prefer to have the paper ad to look at. Walgreen’s has nothing to offer, but I have some RRs that expire this week, so I’m going to get some grocery items we need. If you have RRs to roll, there is a nail polish and toothpaste deal, but I don’t remember which brands. I’ll just cash out whatever RRs I have and call it a year. Next year I think I’m going to abandon Walgreen’s altogether and look at Rite Aid instead. They seem to have many more freebies.

I thought about heading out to Superfresh, for the 10/30 deal on Kraft products, but then I’d have refrigerated items and would have to head home. I earned a 5% off voucher there this fall, so I’m going to go there tomorrow night for our xmas dinner things.

My CVS bucks are good for several more weeks, so I’m not even going to stop in there. If I have time and it’s open, I have a return at Peebles…………but it’s a very slow week for deals. Good thing, I don’t have much time this week anyway.
