Three places to help in Joplin if you wish

It is being reported that already they can confirm 89 people have died yesterday in the Joplin tornado. Looking at the devastation on tv this morning, it’s just amazing. If you wish to help, readers have already responded with some donation information. Please take a look at your stockpiles and try to grab up at least a $5 or $10 flat rate box and send it. Remember, do not send crap! The folks down south were completely overwhelmed with the truckloads of junk they received and it just added to their misery. People who have lost everything have zero need for single shoes and broken toys. I know you all will come through. I’m gathering up a small box of razors, deodorant and the free Crayola things we got at Walgreens a few weeks ago. I am directly copying & pasting:

Diaper Prices this week, May 15

Coupons-

Pampers put out a $1.50 off one coupon in the 5/2 inserts. Huggies coupons were in the 5/15 inserts in varying amounts. I don’t see any printables out there right now for Huggies, will post if I find them. Pampers doesn’t put out printables.

Walgreens-Huggies are buy two jumbo packs for $18, get $3 RR back. Using two $2 coupons, after RR-$11 for two jumbo packs, with 26 ct packs-$.21 per diaper. Not great, wouldn’t do unless have RRs to get rid of.

Genuardi’s (a Safeway store)-big boxes of both advertised at 18.99

Target-buy two big boxes of Huggies at 19.79 each, get $5 gc back. *if* you have two $3 coupons, and take into account the $5 gc, it comes out to about $0.17 per diaper; a few cents more with $2 coupons, so overall not a great deal unless you have other GCs to roll.

CVS-Huggies diapers, big box at $19, big pack of wipes at $6. Buy both for $25, get $5 back. If you get a $4 off $20 or have lots of Extra Bucks, not too bad of a deal.

Kmart-highlighting their store brand of diapers at 10% off

Walmart-if you have the $1 wipes coupons from 5/15 inserts, tubs of wipes only $0.64. Still a bit over a penny per wipe ($0.02 per wipe is my upper limit) but pretty good.

Any Sunday must-do deals?

If your newspaper has Parade magazine in it, look at the front cover of today’s issue. “17 Must-See Movies!” Seventeen? Really? There are seventeen movies coming out this year that qualify as must-see? I really doubt it. Lucky for you all, I’m much more discriminating in what I think is a must-see or must-do, so you I won’t have you driving around to 17 different stores.

Pathmark-if you didn’t get there yesterday, and you have a Pathmark, it’s definitely a must-do. Any coupons up to and including $1 in face value are tripled. Another deal blog that I like, Living Rich with Coupons, has done several good posts on some things to look out for. My closest Pathmark is 10-15 miles away, and unfortunately I have too many other commitments this weekend to make a side trip down there. Hopefully next time. And A&P-if you’re listening, how about doing triples at ALL your stores under your umbrella, instead of just some of them. Read-include Superfresh next time!

Scotch tape-There are two good (freebie deals) on Scotch tape this week. I’m listing them as must-do, merely because it’s not Scotch tape season, lol. In all seriousness, at Christmas time and back-to-school time, stores have lots of this to sell. They are not as well stocked this time of year, so I would expect them to run out.  Especially since it’s free with printable coupons, and those coupons are in pdf format, so you can print as many as you want.

Coupons

The first deal is at Walgreens, where it’s on sale for buy one at 1.99, get two free. Use two of the $1 printables. The second is Staples, where it’s on sale for $0.99. Staples also has a good ink cartridge deal this week. Spend $50 on ink, and you’ll get $5 back for each cartridge you turn in, instead of the usual $2. While you’re there getting your tape, you may want to consider doing this too.

I don’t see anything else I would really go out for today.

Any Sunday must-do deals?

Stay in bed moms! I don’t see any hot freebies or moneymakers that start tomorrow. Certainly nothing that warrants getting out of bed on Mother’s day.

This week, the CVS ad says that when you scan your card, you’ll get a $3 off $10 cosmetics coupon. Combine that with either the Cover Girl or Revlon deals with mfr coupons, and you could get yourself from very cheap or free makeup. Cover Girl coupons were in last week’s paper, and Revlon in tomorrow’s paper.

Enjoy your day moms!

Note to new readers: What is a must-do deal? Well, it could be any number of things. It could be a deal where sales and coupons and other promos are only overlapping for one day, thus making it a must-do deal for that day. Or, from my experience it is such a hot freebie or moneymaker, that stores will probably clear out supply early in the week. Or, it could be a deal that is so good, and although totally legit, is just a little too good to be true, and when the stores catch wind of it, they’ll change their policy and pull it. In some situations, corporations do allow District Mgrs and Store Mgrs to use their discretion, and they can stop a deal. In any event, stay tuned here for the must-do deals, so that you get them!
