Fun finding deals today

Acme trip was much more fun than I expected. It was a big trip for me, as my baby-help leaves tomorrow, so I’m planning to hunker down for a few weeks–can’t get much shopping done with a newborn and a toddler.

Kraft deal–I bought 9 boxes of Capri Sun, they have $1/3 tearpads hanging around the Avondale Acme. Paid $15, got the $10 cat. So $5 for 9 boxes of Capri Sun is good enough for me. We now have enough to last us through the summer, if he gets 1 a day.

Kellogg’s deal–used a $1 off one coupon and a $1/2 coupon, paid $5 for 3 boxes of cereal, got the catalina for $4.69 off milk. So only $0.31 oop overall for 3 boxes of cereal and a gallon of milk.

Nabisco–used my bogo for the wheat thins, and had several $1/2 coupons for saltines and the kids’ crackers. My average oop was about $1.25 per box, not bad.

Barilla pasta is on sale for $1. Good price imo. I haven’t seen a decent pasta deal in quite some time. I used to have dozens of boxes of the free Ronzoni smart taste pasta, but I’m out.

rolling Kraft catalina at Acme

The Kraft deal is better than I thought. Shelf prices are working on the cheese. And you can double dip and it rolls.

Buy $25 worth of Kraft cheese–use shelf prices, and you’ll get $10 back. But, if you make sure that *4* of your cheeses are Kraft 2%, then you’ll get another $3 catalina. I’ve done it three times already. All transactions I bought four packs of the 2% cheese, another package of different cheese and two boxes of Capri Sun. Using my $13 in catalinas to pay for it, it cost me $0.46 oop for transactions 2 and 3.

My plan is to go back tonight or tomorrow and do it 2 or 3 more times. $0.46 is a great price for 2 boxes of Capri Sun and 5 bags of cheese. Freeze it!

Diaper deals, toothpaste & more……….

Starting Sunday-

Walgreen’s: decent Huggies deal with RR. I don’t have many great coupons for this, but will just pay oop for the Huggies and then turn around and use the RR next week when the Walgreen’s brand diapers go on sale. There’s also a glade deal that should give overage that I could use towards the Huggies, but I’m really too fat & tired at this point to try to figure it out. Check the wags board at hotcouponworld for more details. Garnier will be free with coupon in monthly booklet and $1 mfr coupons if you have them. More mfr coupons for that coming out this Sunday as well, according to the ad. If you haven’t gotten your fill of Fusions, they’ll be $0.99 after RR if you have the $4 mfr coupon.

CVS: Crest Pro Health stuff will be free or a $0.50 moneymaker depending on which coupons you got. If you want to be brand loyal to Herbal Essences and have the $2 coupon, it will be $0.88, or even free if you get a $2 shampoo coupon CRT on your receipt. I used mine already on the baby shampoo last week. Could also use that same CRT and mfr coupons to get free Garnier shampoo here too.

Acme: from what I’ve read so far, shelf prices are NOT working on the Kraft deal. So when doing your calculating, use sale prices. I don’t plan on doing this deal as there is nothing I want. Good luck!

Shelf prices working; overage is iffy

If you check the thread from my previous post, shoppers are reporting that shelf prices are working at Acme for the P&G/Pepsi deal. This is good news!

But I also have seen reports from shoppers at both Superfresh and Acme that cashiers & front end supervisors are really scrutinizing coupons, to make sure that no overage is given.

The only thing I’d really want at SF is tomatoes, and who knows if they’ll even have them. So I’ll probably do my weekly trip at Acme, and hopefully get some free Kellogg’s cereal. I don’t even know if I’ll get any P&G stuff, it’s not close enough to free for me.
