We could always go back to rabbit ears.
In case you hadn’t heard, Netflix is raising their rates. A LOT, in some cases. If you want to see a real train wreck, go view their facebook page–one post has over 35,000 comments, people are pissed!
Me? I don’t have the time or energy to be pissed at Netflix because I’m usually too busy being pissed at Comcast. Although overall it is disappointing, because Netflix was going to be one of our options.
There are other options. Here is the post I did a while back about getting rid of cable. And here is an offer I posted about getting DirectTV which I still think is a valid offer. Don’t forget about Hulu (mentioned in first post I linked to) and the stations’ websites.
I’m not positive, but this looks a lot like the HDTV antenna we have. Why pay Comcast extra $$ for HD, the antenna pays for itself within a few months and the HD stuff can all be gotten on line for free.
I’m not annoyed at Netflix raising prices as much as the way the handled it. Uh, very badly. They didn’t even wait long enough for their current customers (me, at least) to get the email announcement before posting it on FB. That’s how I found out. They also did a terrible job (none) of telling customers the reason for the changes. Honestly, if they had said, hey, we’re really sorry to have to do this but we’re losing tons of money the way things are/the studios are killing us/whatever the reason may be… rather than absolutely nothing, it would have saved some of their business. I really love Netflix. I’m not sure what we will do yet.
Yeah I am pissed not sure what I am going to do whether suck it up and keep the mail and streaming option which I am currently paying $10 a month for or pick one option…
I am upset, however, I have yet to get a email or a notice on my account. I left Blockbuster because it was cheaper, hmmm. not now
I am picking one option – streaming. There are enough deals with redbox and blockbuster PLUS online prime time shows. Am I a bit ticked about it? Yes. Poor customer service. I never even GOT the email. I found out from a friend.
I will actually be paying less (7.99 versus 9.99) and all I lose is the movie at home – no true big deal because they sit there a week or 2 before we even watch them.
I will be quitting them and their ‘screw the customers we don’t care what you say’ attitude. I’ve decided to save money and do more constructive things with my time.
PS Are they under Anonymous attack? I couldn’t get on the site today.
I don’t know. I think my husband is now considering Fios.
