Ok, it’s been requested that I look over the Acme ad. I looked at it on Wednesday when I got it in the mail and remember thinking, blech.
That, and I want to apologize somewhat for my post on Superfresh this morning. When I started this blog, it was more geared for supercouponers, those that buy in quantity and routinely get multiple sets of inserts each week. As my reading audience grows, I realize that not only are supercouponers the minority, but they really don’t need any help, for the most part, they know what they are doing. I’m now trying to focus on shoppers who maybe want to put forth just a little bit more effort, and try to save their families some money. So I’ll try to drop the acronyms and scenarios that call for multiple coupons that are the same–and you super couponers should be able to see it and say “But hey, I have lots of those coupons, so I’ll only pay……..” Got it? Good. So, without further ado……..
Like I said, a blech week at Acme–
Kelloggs is $1.75 a box, must buy 4. There have been $1/2 box coupons in recent inserts, plus lots of boxes recently have had various coupons in them. There was a $0.75/1 Life coupon out recently if I remember, and that would double. The positive on this is that it includes Life and Capn Crunch, which we haven’t had deals on in forever–I am so sick of Crispix and Wheaties, anything would be a welcome change. Or–go here for a $1.50/2 coupon, you should be able to print 2. 1.75×4=$7, minus $3 or $1 per box.
Whole watermelon-$3.98; good price. When Brian and I passed by the bin of watermelons, he kept yelling “ball! ball!” That’s a 16m old for you.
Eggos! I just noticed this! Two for $3 and there were recently $1 off 2 coupons out. $1 a box! That’s a stock up price for me.
Ball park franks are bogo, get your $0.75 printable here. Remember that you can use two coupons on a bogo deal, one for each item.
The Snyder’s are 2 for 4 again, I love those flavored pretzels, they are so addicting. The 5/23 coupons have $1/2 coupons in them, or maybe you were lucky enough to get a $0.75/1, which will double.
Florida’s Natural is 1.99, must buy 3. The 7/11 inserts have a $1/1 in them. So get 3 for 5, or 4 or 3..depending on how many coupons you have. I think $1.67 is a good price (if you only have 1 coupon) for premium OJ, since Tropicana is rarely below $3.
Kraft dressing-1.69, and lots of bottles have $0.35 peelies on them, so $0.99 per bottle after that. Yes, it’s perfectly ok to take a peelie coupon off of a bottle if it’s not the flavor you want, and use it for another bottle.
Wesson oil–1.99 after coupon in flyer, good price if you need it
Ore Ida-$2 after coupon on back of flyer; actually that is my stock up price for that stuff, I rarely see it for less than that, we haven’t had a catalina deal on it in a long time, and my kids eat it frequently. Picky little tots they are–MUST be oven cooked, if I microwave them, won’t eat it.
Keep your eyes open at checkout, I’ve seen lots of gum and mints on clearance lately, at good prices. And I’m pretty sure there are Dentyne and Orbit coupons out. Unfortunately I can’t have aspartame or xylitol, so I never buy it.
Aunt Jemima stuff is 2 for $5, I know there are coupons out for $1 off 2, so 2 for 4.
On back of flyer, use coupon to get Welch’s for $1.50 each, not bad, especially when you have kids that use lots of jelly. (yes, you’re learning that my kids survive on tater tots, pizza and pb & j) and Welch’s is now a part of Box Tops for Education.
Other than that, nothing spectacular. I’m glad I took a second look, definitely going to rearrange my chest freezer to make room for some boxes of Eggos.
Lol thanks! and maybe there is an Eggo rebate for Kellogg's this year? Anyone know? Hopefully thinking;)~Cm
