For those of you who are new here and looking at my Walgreen’s picture & thinking “I want to do that,” here is a quick reminder of the rules at Walgreen’s.
You may use a store coupon AND a manufacturer’s coupon per item. Like the Dixie items has a store coupon out right now (booklets at front of store) and there are mfr coupons out right now.
You may use both of the above, and still earn Register Rewards on those items.
Bogo offers, and buy one, get one 50% offers will work on clearance items.
Clearance items will also generate Register Rewards, if that brand is in a Register Rewards promo that week.
Walgreen’s will only accept ONE MFR COUPON PER ITEM. And this is where it may get confusing because Register Rewards count as manufacturer’s coupons. So if you have two items, and you are using a mfr coupon for both, then you want to use an RR to pay for it, you need to find a filler item. Right now they have these little erasers for $0.10. Use that.
Register Rewards do not roll if it is the same manufacturer. If you get the $7 Almay RR, you can use it on another Almay purchase, but you will not earn another RR. Use it on another RR offer, then use that RR on Almay.
Only one LIKE RR deal per transaction. If you buy 4 Almay items, you will only get one $7 RR. You have to split it into two transactions to get two $7 RRs. You can stack deals, such as purchaing the Almay and the Pantene in one transaction, and you will get one RR per manufacturer.
Whew! Once you get the hang of it, it’s not that hard, really. But it is sort of a reminder to me why I said I wasn’t going to Walgreen’s anymore! Luckily mine has nice cashiers who don’t mind if I stand there and do 4 or 5 transactions back to back. Of course if a line starts to form, I step to the side and let people go ahead of me.
The other nice thing about Walgreen’s is that they offer printable coupons on their website. So you can do matchups at home with your mfr coupons, without running to the store to pick up a booklet.
