Ten Thousand Villages-annual sale

I like the store Ten Thousand Villages. The company is run by Mennonites and they sell lots of crafty things and unusual housewares and gifts from around the world, and promise that those who made them get a fair wage. Their company HQ is up in Ephrata and they are having a big warehouse sale.

It’s Thursday-Saturday, January 20-22, starts at 10 am each day. It’s a fun kind of sale for people who like to bargain hunt, because while the selection will be best on Thursday, the discounts will be the best on Saturday. They increase the discount amounts as the sale goes on. And if you’re really daring, go on Saturday afternoon, around 2 or 3. The sale ends at 4:00 PM that day and the last hour or so they are having a “crazy clearout” of what’s left. This store is where I first found and was introduced to the Putumayo Music selections for children. I’m debating whether or not I’m going to go up there and check out the sale.

The following weekend they are having their annual rug sale, but I think that is at all locations.
