CVS-*Hot* freebie or small mm–ends today!

I needed a little bit of me time this morning, so I grabbed my coupon binder and told hubby “I’m going to CVS.” His response was “What do you do there for so long?”

Well, I can’t afford regular retail therapy, ha ha. So this is my time. I love just wandering around the store seeing what really cheap and free stuff I can get with coupons. And here’s what I found–

It ends tonight, but there’s a Revlon deal, get $7 in Extra Bucks when you buy any two cosmetics or tools. That’s right, my favorite word-ANY. And, so, looked at the tools and sure enough there are several options to choose from that are $2-$3. I didn’t have any Revlon coupons, but it will be an even better deal if you do. I chose two pairs of the nail clippers at $2.99 each and did get $7 back. This was at the Landenberg store.

Makeup: My main reason for going was that I wanted to check out the makeup clearance. Getting free makeup and hair stuff with coupons is actually what got me started couponing almost 20 years ago and it’s still my favorite. Revlon had the most markdowns and much was 75% off. The best part……….PEELIES! Some of the clearanced makeup had $2 and $3 peelies on it. I did the math in my head and the lipgloss will be $0.35 after clearance and peelie. I didn’t care for any of the colors but they had several options. I got four or five different things for about 90% off. Neutrogena is marked down 50% and there is a $2 coupon in today’s (tomorrow’s) paper.  Many of the Olay items were marked down 75% and I had $5 coupons that were home mailers, but I’m pretty sure there were $2 and $5 coupons in the 12/26 inserts. And…don’t forget to join the new beauty club that CVS has to offer. The Landenberg store has a little tearpad near the register; you just tear one off, hand it to the cashier with your extra care card. She scans both and it automatically enrolls you and then it spits out a 10% off all cosmetics coupon. Do that first as a separate transaction before you purchase your clearance makeup. It did take the 10% off of clearance, as I got $3.30 off with that coupon, which means I had $33 worth of makeup which would be about correct. Of course I didn’t pay $33, but that’s the fun of it.  I had a great time and getting new makeup is a sure way to brighten a blah winter day, imo.

Excedrin: Today is also the last day of the Excedrin Extra Bucks deal, spend $20, get $10 back. Is reported to work on $19.96, not $20. If you didn’t get your freebie/5.99 coupons yet in the mail, I had several $2.50 coupons in my binder from an insert-they are in the 12/05 inserts and today’s (tomorrow’s) paper. Excedrin is my otc pain reliever of choice, so I got some.

Between the small moneymaker, the almost free makeup and free excedrin, I had a great hour wandering the store.

Totsy-check out these socks!

I’ve never purchased anything from Totsy, but I am a “member.” Totsy is a website that sells baby/kids’ things, usually the high-end brand names. They offer special deals to their members and you have to be a member to purchase anything. But it seems all you have to do to be a member is sign up. It also works on a groupon/livingsocial type premise, where something is on a deal only for a limited time. And like other sites, you can earn credits for referrals. You will get daily email alerts for deals.

I’m actually pretty excited about these socks:

Look at the little loops at the top–how ingenious! I’m going to share this deal with all my special needs mom friends, because this will help me teach my kiddo how to pull his socks up. Only $2.99 a pair, I haven’t yet checked on S&H and whether or not they’re on Ebates.

So  for all you parents and grandparents out there, Totsy might be something you’re interested in.

Snapfish Deals

Have lots of pictures stuck in your camera or computer that you don’t know what to do with? Snapfish has several deals going on right now.

First, they are offering a “penny a print” deal. Except that you do pay S&H which brings up the cost to 6 or 7 pennies per print. Still a good deal as generally the best deals I see in the stores are 9 or 10 cents each. This deal is only good through tomorrow, January 9 and you must purchase 99 prints for 99 cents. Use the code 2011PENNY when you order.

Never used Snapfish before? Even better. New Users get 50 free prints.

And Disney fans, check out this link on Snapfish to see how to get a free Disney calendar.

Around here it’s supposed to be an icky weather day anyway. Good day to stay indoors and go through digital photos.

Caregivers’ Marketplace-an update

I received an email update from Caregivers Marketplace. I used to post about them several years ago. They are a clearing house of sorts for rebates, and would offer rebates on products, particularly those geared towards taking care of someone–either a baby, the elderly or the infirmed. What was great about them was that they offered a $1 rebate on Huggies and if I recall correctly, $0.50 on the wipes. It was fantastic because because I could go out, purchase Huggies with coupons, CVS Extra Bucks, Walgreen’s Register Rewards, Superfresh or Acme catalinas, pay nothing or next to nothing for them, and still get $1 back for every pack I purchased. You had to submit in quantities of five or more, which was never a hassle for those of us who stockpile diapers!

Then, it was at least a year or more ago, they lowered the rebate amounts. No biggie, I still submitted them.

Then, they took the whole program offline while they revamped it. And now it’s back. With a really sucky product list. Here is a pdf version of the new rebate form. For my household, there’s nothing of interest on it to me.

So for me, it’s adios to CGM. I hope that at least some of my readers find it useful, or are at least glad for an update and receiving closure, ha ha.
