One more on school supplies–Rubinstein’s

Hopefully you don’t just toss the Val Pak coupons when they come in the mail, though I realize many do. I always look through them, and admittedly, it’s mostly junk. But Rubinstein’s usually has coupons in there. This month they did have their back to school coupons in there, and they are offering lots of freebies wyb $10 worth of stuff. Last year you only had to buy $10 worth to get all the different items, not $10 worth for each different item.

I also like to support the small local businesses when I can and it’s cost effective to do so. I have found that the HP print cartridges we use are actually the same price at Walmart and Rubinstein’s, so with the Rubinstein’s coupons, they are actually the better deal.

Also, in the Val Pak there are often pizza coupons for the local pizzerias, so they may be worth hanging on to if it’s a restaurant you use.

My Walgreen’s trip today

Remember when I posted that I went to the grand opening in Hockessin and got my $25 gift card? I used it today.

Transaction one:
6 jars of Ragu
2 Mega packs of diapers
$26.28 after coupons, used $25 gc and $1.28 cash
Got back $4 RR for ragu

Transaction two:
2 bottles of tide
Used $1 coupon and $4 RR, $1.06 final total

So not bad for $2.34. Here’s the thing, dummy me forgot her $5 off $20 coupon, even after blogging about it. The cashier did say that I can bring it back tomorrow and get credit for it, with my receipt, so I may do that, since I want to hit the Staples deals anyway. Hopefully they will load the $5 back on to my gc, which I held on to. That would mean I actually came out ahead.

My school starts Monday, so I wanted to use up any outstanding things I have at Walgreen’s as I’ll have less time to go there.

Teacher Days today

It’s Teacher Day at Staples and Office Max. I went to the Kennett Staples and they are giving away flash drives. Ok, didn’t need one, not allowed to use them at my school, but free is free. I won’t be getting down to the Christiana Office Max until this evening, we have dinner plans down that way.

Also, Staples has some decent freebie items next week. Folders, eraser, pencil sharpeners. I’ve heard that if you’re a teacher that they will increase the limit to 25, but I’ve never tried it. Other decent sale items too.

$5 off $20 at Walgreen’s

Here is a link to print a coupon for $5 off a $20 purchase at Walgreen’s. This $20 total must be your total AFTER all coupons and Register Rewards. But there are some more expensive Register Reward deals that might make this worthwhile. The Ragu/Skippy deal is 6 items for $10, get $4 RR back. And there’s a Slim Fast deal if you use that, that has RR–check the store for specific details.

Coupon good today & tomorrow only.
