Speaking of the Avon Grove Sun…….

I really was going to post this anyway. I swear. I am not posting this because I made the front page of yesterday’s paper. I like the AG Sun, I really enjoy the little weekly papers. Let’s face it, our daily “local” paper rarely tells us anything about this end of the county. It’s the little weeklies you need for very local news, and I enjoy it.

Anyway, they are running a special right now. Purchase a 1-year subscription for $28 and you’ll get a free hotel stay for 2-nights. I called and inquired about it, and when they receive your payment, you’ll receive a voucher from a travel company, though I don’t remember who she said it would be. Yes, there will be blackout dates and yes, there will be a list of hotels from which to choose. But c’mon, a year of the paper and 2 hotel night stays, all for $28–that’s a good deal. And I’m very curious at what types of places I’ll be able to go to for $14 a night.

The only thing I don’t like about this deal is that I will no longer have an excuse to walk Kevin down to Avon News each week to go get my AG Sun.

FMI call them at 888-299-3822, as this is a limited time offer.

The stores I shopped were the PA Penn Green Road location and Brackenville Road and Lantana Square in Hockessin. All 3 allowed me to use both monthly coupons.

It’s 99-cent diaper day! Yippee!

In case you missed this post, here is the link. Today is one of the double dip days at Walgreen’s, where you can double dip on the coupons in both the July and the August monthly booklets. I also posted some of the good weekly deals at Walgreen’s this week. Remember that double-dipping on the monthly coupons is a ymmv, not all stores will allow it. I’m going to try the store on Penn Green road first, since it’s close. I have to go down to my vet’s office anyway, and that journey will take me past 2 Happy Harry’s stores in Hockessin, so I will try those if the first store doesn’t allow it. For $0.99 for a pack of diapers–I have to go by “if at first you don’t succeed, try try again!”

If you want to try to plan your trip at home first, you can print the coupons from the monthly booklet from the Walgreen’s website. It is recommended that you at least print the August ones at home, as these booklets may not be out in the stores yet. Here is the link to the August booklet and here is the link to the July booklet.

Here is a list of other items that have a coupon in both booklets:

The Children’s Place-Monster sale

The Children’s Place is having one of it’s Monster Sales. Take an add’l 50-75% off already clearanced merchandise. This means you’ll get most of your items for about $1-$3. The sale is occurring at both the outlets, mall stores and online. If you shop online, make sure to use code FA78 when you check out to get an add’l 15% off!

I have been hearing from other moms that the website is slow due to the sale and that the merchandise is quickly getting picked over. Then again, I hear of moms getting 26 items for $30 shipped! So definitely worth checking out. I’m going to check out the Lancaster outlet location today, so I’ll edit this post later & report if it’s really picked over or not.

Good luck & happy shopping.
