I hate Target

If you haven’t noticed, I never post deals at Target. I hate Target. I know lots of people that love it, but I’m not one of them.

If you go to Target’s website, they post their own store coupons. They also frequently publish them in the weekly inserts. If you contact Customer Service, they will tell you that it is Target’s policy to accept BOTH a store coupon and a mfr coupon for the same item. This has potential for some really good deals, right?

Hmph. Good Luck. I have been to the one on Concord Pike and the one on Route 30 East. Both shot me down time & time again, saying they couldn’t accept two coupons for one item. It didn’t matter if I had the printed policy with me. Didn’t matter how many cashiers or managers I spoke with. Each time, I’d call Customer Service, and I’d hear “Gee, we’re really sorry that happened to you. Our policy is to accept both coupons.” But that was it, nothing ever changed. Finally, after one incident where I left tons of stuff at the register and left with $92 worth of coupons in my hand, I swore I’d never go there again. And I really have only gone there once a year or so.

I went this past summer to one in Colorado, because there was a pretty good diaper/wipes deal I wanted to show my sister-in-law how to do. Of course it required both a mfr and a store coupon–and we were denied. I must be Target cursed or something, because so many moms on hcw have terrific luck there.

So Kevin got an xmas gift from someone, with a Target gift receipt, and I had to exchange it. I decided to try the new store on Route 1 near Brinton Lake. The guy at the CS counter was insisting that the gift receipt was not the gift receipt. I pleaded with him to please try scanning it–what do you know? It WAS the gift receipt. I have no idea what his problem was, it said Gift Receipt right across the top. So I leave the CS counter with gift card and I was off to browse. Picked up a few things–there are $1 packs of Rayovac batteries, if you have the recent $1 insert coupon-free! Got some of those. Got Kevin some things, then decided to browse maternity clothes, which happened to be right next to the fitting rooms.

The clerk working the fitting rooms was completely obnoxious. She was on the phone with a customer and when she hung up, she referred to him as “ignorant” to another coworker, and was talking quite loudly. She barked at a customer who wanted to try something on–“You can’t try underwear on here!” The poor customer said that yes, she figured that, but wanted to try on the tops she was holding. She belched loudly a few times. I really wanted to try on a few things but wasn’t in the mood for any interaction with her.

So another reluctant visit to Target and my opinion of them has not changed. I just got a baby gift card for there from my coworkers, so I will go use it and that will probably be it.

still slow……..

Still no deals to get excited over.

CVS-new ad starts tomorrow. If you have ECBs that you need to roll over and cannot wait until next week, there are a few ‘free after ECB’ items. But they stink, nothing I’d really want.

Sunday & Monday only
Nova Max glucometer/monitor $9.99
EARinse $9.99
Sleep MD $7.99
All of the above are free after ECBs and limit 1

All Week
Contour Monitor $14.99 get a $5.00 ECB (limit 1)

Colgate Total Advanced $2.99 get a $2.00 ECB (limit 2)

ACME
Another dud of a week. I’m going to keep my trip small. The only decent deal is the Kellogg’s cereal. $1.67 a box, must buy 3. If you have any of the $1 off one coupons left, only $0.67 a box. These coupons were in the inserts a few weeks ago and I believe they expire 12/31, so I guess I’ll use up whatever I have.

Walgreen’s
Today is the last day for this week’s spend $25 get $5 RR. I’ve done this deal twice. Buy the Arm & Hammer detergent that is advertised with an in-store coupon on the back of the ad. The detergent is $6.99, but then with coupon, only $1.99 and there is a $1 off one coupon available on the A&H website. The best part is that $6.99 will count towards your $25 total. Then when you hand them the coupon, the register takes $5 off for each one. The site will let you print 2 coupons.

A few slow weeks……

I haven’t posted much lately mainly because it’s been slow. But after Superdoubles and back to back weeks of triples at Superfresh, plus a big week at CVS, slow is good.

Tomorrow is another 4 day sale at Walgreen’s, get $5 RR when you spend $25. If you have the $5 rr from last week, you can use that & it will roll over. This week it’s Pepsi that is buy 15, get $5 rr, and I got both $5 rr last week with the coke and my $25 total. Maybelline is bogo, but I’m not sure how that will ring up as far as counting towards your $25 total. Would be nice if it counted and then came off at the end, but who knows.

Also, last week the PA Walgreen’s did these deals, but not Happy Harry’s. Sorry Delawareans. This time it’s you guys coming to our state to shop.

On Saturday, Santa will be at Avon News in Avondale from 1-3. Another great close hassle-free way to see Santa. I will do anything to avoid a mall in December. They also have a nice selection of gifty things, like teacher/babysitter type gifts, so be sure to look around. It’s also a PA lottery center, so why not take a chance? Someone has to win, right?

Concord Pet sale & Santa at Pyle’s

Twice a year Concord Pet does a big sale where they offer either 25% or 30% off the entire store. Once in July and once is……..today! 30% isn’t huge savings, but I find that the pet stuff I need rarely goes on sale at all. If you participate in their Buy 10 bags, get 11th bag free program, any bags purchased today will not count towards your total, oh well. Every time I’ve gone it’s been pretty crowded, I usually go to the Yorklyn Rd location. I may try New London today, hopefully less crowded and we need new dog beds; although then I will pay sales tax.

And don’t forget, Santa is at Pyle’s again today from 10-2. They also are having various sales and if you got their flyer in the mail, there’s a 50% off one item coupon on the back.
