taking a holiday break

I’m going to be taking a break for the holidays. There aren’t many bargains to be had, other than the after-xmas sales on xmas supplies. One reader posted that Walgreen’s is going to 75% off, so you may want to try there.

The next two sales flyers for CVS are dull. The vitamin deal is decent if you need vitamins, but other than that, I guess I’m going to hang on to my ECBs, they’re good til 1/21. Hopefully better opportunities will come up before then.

Acme ad is boring. So is Walgreen’s. I don’t think there are any coupon inserts today/tomorrow except for maybe a P&G insert. I’m sure we all have tons of cleaning out to do–LOTS of coupons expire 12/31.

So since there’s not much worth writing about and I have tons of projects around the house that I want to do, I probably won’t post much.

a good morning

I hit several stores this morning–Penney’s, Kohl’s, Yankee Candle and Hallmark. All were having fantastic deals that made it worth it to go out. I don’t know how much will be left as the week progresses, but good luck to you if you go.

Hallmark: 40% off all holiday stuff
Penney’s: great sales plus 2 coupons found at front of store-$10 off $50 and $15 off $75
Kohl’s: great sales plus extra 10%
Yankee Candle: the $18 jar candles are $10, the biggest ones are 2 for 25.

December 26

Merry Christmas!

All the excitement is over at my house, Kevin is enjoying all his new toys and we’re having a quiet Christmas at home.

I’m trying to decide if I want to brave crowds tomorrow. I may actually head to the Christiana Mall and try JC Penney. They’re supposed to be having a big sale. Yankee Candle also reduces their fall/holiday scents after xmas.

Last year I really stocked up at Walmart on xmas items–wrap, cards, etc. I have enough to last me several years. I’ve been reading on hcw that Walgreen’s and CVS may not be having great after xmas sales this year.

Proctor & Gamble coupon booklet

After this week at CVS, I am on my way towards a P&G coupon booklet. This is in regards to the post I did a few days ago, the one where you have to buy $5o worth of P&G items to send in & get a coupon booklet.

Well, I only got a few Thermacare, because they were out, but that’s a P&G item. And the free Crest Pro-Health (a week long offer-there’s still time!), I got 2 on each card, so that’s another $12 towards my $50. There’s also an Olay Regenerist offer coming up, I don’t remember if it’s CVS or Walgreen’s, I’ll post more when I find it. But that will get me at least another $20 towards my total.

So pay attention to your receipts and don’t toss them–P&G makes lots of things! You may even be buying some of their food items and not know it.
