New Giant ad-May 1 to 8; P&G deal update

Looking at the new Giant ad. It has a little pull-out insert with the $25/$100 P&G deal. At first glance, it looks like most of the prices are the same as this week. And I don’t see any mention of a possible $5/$20 catalina offer from Pampers. Nor do I see the big box of Pampers that they have advertised this week, with the free tub of wipes when you buy the big box.

My hope, of course, was that I’d buy five big boxes of Pampers in separate transactions. Pay $19.99 for them, get my free wipes and use whatever Pampers coupons I have. I think I have $2 ones right now. See if one box and one tub of wipes is enough to generate $5 catalina, and see what my spending amount is listed as on my receipt. Hopefully get a $5 catalina to roll on the next box of diapers and so on. When I got to $100, hopefully only five transactions (99.95-I was counting on the value of the wipes to push me over).  I would have spent: 17.99+12.99+12.99+12.99+12.99=69.95, I’d still have a $5 catalina. Go home, submit $25 rebate. $44.95 final cost for five big boxes of diapers, five tubs of wipes, one $5 catalina.

But since I don’t see this anywhere in the ad, and only read about it on discussion forums, I’m going to wait & see what happens. Hopefully some shopper will be the guinea pig and go out and try it on Sunday or Monday. Since Giant deals only work on sale prices, I don’t see how we can make anything even close to free.

There’s another P&G deal at Acme next week, so I’d rather just try for that one instead.

Procter & Gamble inserts this weekend, April 3; where to use them

Just a reminder that if you are considering whether or not to purchase a Sunday paper for the coupons, that there will be a Procter & Gamble insert.  I briefly looked over mine and then gave it away, but will get more on Monday.

There are P&G deals everywhere this week-Superfresh, Giant, CVS, Target. And I haven’t seen the Kmart or DG ads yet, but I would expect for them to be promoting P&G too.

Friendly reminder–Superfresh will work off of shelf prices for the spending threshold, everywhere else will work on sale prices. Giant and Superfresh are both a mail-in rebate offer that is limit one per household so I assume they will link it to your shopper card. And it will be more money out of pocket right now and will be several weeks until you get your money back. At Target, it’s based on unit count–get a $5 GC when you buy 2 select items. The gift card will roll if you choose to do so. And at Superfresh you can stack your e-savings with mfr coupons.

I half-expect Acme to have a P&G deal next week, we’ll see! I really need some Bounty.
