Giant this week

I’ve been so busy the past coupla weeks, I’ve barely had time to look at my ads, let alone clip any coupons. I haven’t done my weekly shopping trip in almost 2 weeks, I just keep stopping in for milk or bananas or whatever it is we’ve run out of.

I think I’m going to do my weekly trip at Giant. First, they have a gas deal when you spend $50, and that should just about cover my weekly trip. The Gatorade, which my husband drinks tons of when doing outdoor work and repairs, is only $0.88. I seldom find it for under a dollar. They have a $5/$20 Kraft deal, instant savings, not a catalina. But with the coupons from last week’s paper, should be a good deal. And they are running the $20 GM deal and get $5 worth of BTFE. I have enough coupons for the Fiber One stuff that I do well and get more BTFE for K’s school.

Herr’s potato chips are bogo, look for peelies. Kelloggs is a good deal, about $0.75/box if you use the coupons or IPs on coupons.com. They may disappear tomorrow (new month) so print them today!

Just remember, at Giant, deals work on sale prices, not shelf prices.

And don’t miss the coupon on the back of the flyer–free Elmer’s glue for the kids when you spend $15.

New week–Coupons for Charity–FREE wipes!

I put up the new auction for Coupons for Charity here. Included in the P&G inserts is the $2 off Pampers wipes coupons, which probably means free wipes. Every store–Target, Walmart, Superfresh, Acme….they’ve all been putting the wipes on sale for $1.99.  Bid now! Bid high–let’s end this month’s auctions with a bang for K’s birthday (yesterday).

CVS flu shot deal & tomorrow’s Coupons for Charity

Starting today, this week’s CVS ad has buy $30 worth of P&G products, get a free flu shot. I’m pretty excited about it, because my insurance never covers flu shots and every year I pay out of pocket. Last year they were $25 at Walgreen’s. But there was a P&G coupon insert in today’s paper, so I’m confident on getting my out of pocket total down, much below $30. To me this is a great deal, as I had planned on shelling out $25 for a flu shot anyway, so the P&G products are just a bonus! And if you get one, as at the pharmacy for your special coupon booklet, as advertised in the ad.

Tomorrow I plan on posting another Coupons for Charity ebay listing. Problem is, State Road is closed tomorrow. Not sure I’ll be able to get my coupons. So if it’s not up tomorrow, it will be on Tuesday.

Support the local merchants!

Locally owned, small businesses still have great deals. The Lighthouse in Hockessin, DE has been a favorite stop for us as we do our home renovations. They have every type of lighting fixture imaginable, and what they don’t have they can usually order. We got a deal there last weekend with Hinkley lights, 50% off the suggested retail. And ask them, some items are buy 4 items, get 50% off your purchase. Overall, yes, their prices are a bit higher than a big box store. But with 50% off, it’s a better deal, plus you have a much better selection. Big box stores cater to the masses, I want nice, original things in my home!
