Here it is, the new policy. I don’t shop at Rite Aid, but I do know my way around a coupon policy, ha ha. We ha e them here, I just haven’t been interested in learning the tricks of another store to add to my shopping repetoire when I do quite well with the stores I already shop.
Of course one of the biggest changes is the “no bogo coupon on a bogo sale.” Yeah, that really stinks if you were used to doing it. But, as far as I know, CVS and Walgreens and a few other stores still accept them, so hopefully you have other options. The new one about “Limit 4-like coupons” is ok, just will mean multiple trips if it’s something you really want.
I don’t think it’s fair to blame this all on the tv show, like I’m seeing in different places. Yeah, it may have had some influence. But Rite Aid tightening the reins–this was going to happen anyway. It’s one of the reasons I didn’t want to take the time to learn their deals. Fellow couponers would say “But Rite Aid is so good right now, so many freebies!” And I’d think “Sure, just like CVS was five years ago. It’ll change.” And it has.
I can’t help but think they did it knowingly-be a bit generous in their coupons and promos, to get the coupon crowd to shop there. Then change the policies, knowing that they’d still have gained many customers.
Hang in there, stores tighten their policies all the time and we still find great deals. This will be no different.
