I was recently contacted by Looster Booster, to see if I wanted to do a review and giveaway. I looked at their site for about 15 seconds and then said YES!!!! This is a product that I actually had been looking for, but only in my head, ha. I hadn’t gotten around to searching for something like this online yet.
As you all know, I have two little boys, ages 2 and 5. Neither is potty trained yet (keep in mind the 5-year-old has special needs). We’ve been working on potty training with the older one for quite some time, with moderate but inconsistent success. One of his issues is poor core strength, and in fact, he uses a feeding/kitchen chair that has a foot rest, to help him stabilize himself. When you have poor core strength, it’s not good or helpful to just have your feet dangling–for him it was distracting.
What I like about the Looster Booster: It’s a nice height and it wraps all the way around the base of the toilet. It’s sturdy. All around, it’s just very helpful and useful and I am thrilled that we have one. I highly recommend it, and not just because they gave me one! I also love that it’s a Made in the USA company from a mom.
What others may dislike: It is somewhat therapeutic looking, so some may not care for the way it looks in your bathroom. And our bathroom is small, so we really have no place to store it; it has to stay in it’s place around the base of the toilet all the time. But have a child with special needs, I have therapeutic stuff all over my house, so that doesn’t really bother me. You’re talking to a mom that has a trampoline in her kitchen–for my family it’s always function over appearance.
What K (my 5 year old) doesn’t like: The top of it is textured, and for a kid with sensory issues, he does not like to rest his bare feet on it. But, the texture is there presumably for safety and to keep them from slipping when stepping up and down. And it’s a problem easily solved–I just take his socks off last at bath time, he sits on the potty sans all his clothing except socks, lol.
Now through March 5, use the code POTTY12 and get $7 off your Looster Booster. Here is their video if you’d like more information.
And……….here is how you can win one! Good luck!
