More from Acme–check your Avenu

It’s Edy’s time again. On sale 3 for $10 and the $2 coupon is showing up on Avenu.

Crest toothpaste is 10 for 10 and a $0.75 ecoupon is on my Avenu. ETA: Oops, size on sale and size on avenu are two different sizes.

Acme ad-Oct 10-16

Looks ok, I don’t need much, but here are some decent sales for items I know there were recent coupons for.

Pop tarts- 4 for $4, $0.55 coupons coming this Sunday–free!
Kleenex-10 for $10, coupons recently
Dannon light & fit- $0.50 each, often shows up on my Avenu and there are recent insert coupons
Post cereal-5 for $8, recent coupons
Softsoap handsoap-$1 each, recent insert coupons
Gold Peak tea-$1 each, lots of tearpad coupons out there
Spaghettios-$1 each, $0.40 off 2 coupons out there
Progresso soup is $1 each–kinda mad about this one because this past week you had to buy 10, it doesn’t look like you have to buy 10 next week, which will make for a better deal. You’ll get 8 cans for $6 instead of 10 cans for $8, if you have the $1 off 4 coupon. Oh well.

Other decent sales-
Hatfield pork tenderloin is bogo
Butter is $1 for half a pound
Minute Maid drinks for $1, my husband loves these.

Yay! 2 coupons on a bogo at Acme!

I tried it! It works! I can’t guarantee it will work with every item, but it did for the New England coffee. It’s 6.99 and bogo. I got 8 and the register took 8 coupons, no beeping or anything. So $2 for a bag of New England coffee.

Looks like no “Monitor Mania” this year

Darn. Last year from Oct to January, CVS shoppers went thru what I call “monitor mania.” The deals went something like this–Buy a glucometer (blood sugar monitor) and you received anywhere from $5 to $20, yes $20, ECBs back. Here’s what was so awesome about it–if you went back to the pharmacy, they had these special Diabetes coupon booklets for FREE monitors. And many of the monitor deals were LIMIT 5. So I would go, get a monitor or two, pay for them with the FREE coupons, and receive $20 back in ECBs for each one. And some of them were month-long deals too, so you had plenty of time for your stores to restock the monitors if they were out.

I had literally hundreds of dollars in ECBs last year. It was fun. I donated all the monitors to various places and they were happy to get them.

But alas, this year’s Diabetes coupon booklet is out. And no coupons for free monitors. Just plain old “Buy a monitor, get $xx back in ECBs.” So unless some decent manufacturer’s coupons come out, no monitor mania this autumn.
