discounts on family activities

The Please Touch Museum is currently offering family memberships at $40 off. It’s now only $110 for a family of four to have unlimited access for one year. It’s $15 per person to get in, so it should pay for itself with two visits. My kids love it there, but, we’ve been doing very well with the discounts offered on groupon. But if you don’t want to take a chance on it being offered on groupon, this is a decent deal.

Also, Sesame Place is offering discounts for next year, and you’d get the rest of this year included. They are still open for limited things on weekends, like the musical shows and meals with characters. I don’t remember the specific pricing, but I’m sure it’s on their website.

And of course, don’t forget the zoo. A family annual pass is just $99 and that includes parking. For an additional $20 or $30, you can add two guest passes on to each visit. We did that, and honestly, we never used the extra passes. But maybe that just means my friends are slackers. We could just never connect and meet up there. We did get our money’s worth from the membership.

This year, I think we’re going to join PTM. Their too active these days for the zoo, would rather be out doing things. And I like that we can use it year-round. Of course the zoo is open year-round, but who wants to go in the winter?

eat, drink & be merry….

There are so many good grocery deals this week, I don’t know where to begin. All the retailers are trying to lure you to their store with their low prices.

TONS of freebies at Acme this week. And don’t forget to load your Avenu card before you go.

Giant is offering dollar doublers and many other low prices. Including very cheap Birds Eye veggies. No one has posted an ad yet with matchups. I’ll try to do some later, but right now I’m more focused on Acme & SF since their ad started yesterday and Giant’s doesn’t start till tomorrow.

Here is the Superfresh ad with some matchups, including cheap diapers.

Repeat after me…I am done xmas shopping, I am done xmas shopping..Kohl’s deal!

I am done xmas shopping. Really, I am. I went to the Target toy clearance, IN JULY, and bought a bunch of toys. For my kids, cousins, niece…..really, I could give what I have right now and it would be a decent gift. But then awesome deals come along……….argh. And this is how I end up overspending. Because things are such a great price. (notice I didn’t say great deal, because I don’t NEED the item)

Here’s the Kohl’s deal, recapped:
Kohl’s has their FP toys marked down 40-45%.  You see, not only are the select Fisher-Price toys still discounted up to 45%– but when you add a toy to your cart it will automatically be reduced an additional 20%! …AND even better, if you spend $50 or more you can use coupon code EXTRA20 to get an additional 20% off your purchases + if your total is still over $50 after the 20% coupon code has been applied, you can stack with code EBTSHIP50 to score FREE shipping! …AND finally, you’ll score $10 Kohl’s Cash for every $50 you spend (after discounts). So I’ll be lured into the store with my Kohl’s cash to buy even more stuff.

Will…..not……..click……….will………not…….click……..but clicking is so much easier than running to TRU at midnight, isn’t it?

Check your Acme Avenu!

The Acme Avenu deals have been so poor lately I haven’t looked at mine in weeks. But thanks to a friend for pointing me in that direction. The Mrs. Smith’s pies this week are $3.99 and you get a free Breyer’s Ice Cream when you buy one. I got $1.50 off Breyer’s on my Avenu so I’ll pay about $2.50 for both. Not a bad price. Yeah, I just don’t have time to bake pies, so there you go.

I also got $2.50 off a PF Chang’s frozen meal and I know I have $2 insert coupons for these. They run about $10, so I’ll take it for about half price. I’ve tried both the chicken and broccoli and beef and broccoli. They’re ok. The good thing is that they are super easy to make and they taste ok. When I have a busy weekday evening, it’s a quick meal for $6, so I’ll take it. Still cheaper than takeout.

I also got $2 off any Almay product and I’m product loyal to eye-makeup remover pads and it’s hard to find deals for them. I don’t know what the price is for Crest right now, but I got $1 off and I know there are always $1 off coupons in the P&G inserts.
