I’ve read in several places that Walmart is price matching on Black Friday. Even other stores’ Black Friday doorbuster/loss leader deals. I wouldn’t expect it to be without hassle in some cases, but if you don’t want to run all over town, it’s worth a shot!
gift card deals at grocery stores
Make sure when you get your weekly grocery ads, that you’re looking over them thoroughly. I found a deal, waaayyy down at the bottom of the last page of the Acme ad, in very small print! It’s spend $100 on select gift cards, get $20 back. They list several retailers including Best Buy, Kohl’s and a few others. Last year I got Kohl’s gift cards for the women at day care and had planned to do the same this year. I might as well get $20 towards my groceries this week, if I’m buying the cards anyway. Or if you know that you’re probably going to spend $100 at Best Buy or Kohl’s anyway this season, buy the gift card!
Huggies at BJs
Here’s what could possibly be a decent deal at BJs. I generally don’t advocate warehouse-type-stores because I think it’s silly to pay to shop someplace. In addition, their prices aren’t always the greatest. But on a per diaper basis, they’re usually decent prices.
My Sunday Inquirer had a free 60 day trial membership for BJs in the coupon section. They also have a “Take $5 off when you buy 2….” and it lists several items including Huggies, Kotex and Poise. And you should be able to use that coupon, since it’s a BJs store coupon, with manufacturer’s coupon. There were $1.50 Huggies coupons in last week’s paper, and there are always Huggies printables online. In recent weeks there have been Huggies printables for $2.50 or even $3. Check smartsource.com and coupons.com. Or just google ‘huggies printable coupon’ and you should get lots of hits.
After all is said & done, I would think you’d be able to get yourself down to about $0.15 a diaper, which I think is good. Hopefully since it was in the Philly paper, it will also be in the other metropolitan papers where there are BJs.
