Today’s groupon deal is half-off an oil change at Tolsdorf Oil Lube Express. They have four Chester county locations-West Chester, Kennett Square, Phoenixville and Exton. You can’t buy oil & filter and do it yourself for that price!
Maybe one more trip to Walgreen’s……..Huggies & Electrasol
I know I said I wasn’t shopping at Walgreen’s in the new year, too many restrictions on their rewards.
But two good deals catch my eye this week–
First, if you have the 2.25 Electrasol coupon from Sunday’s paper. And your store has to have Electrasol in stock, which may be a challenge. Buy it for 3.49, use your 2.25 coupon. And……..get 1.50 back in Register Rewards. So you’re 0.26 ahead for each one you purchase.
Then, take the 1.50 register reward, plus the 2.50 Huggies printable. Or use this one. I plan to use both on the Huggies that are 6.99, which will then be 2.99 plus tax. Just remember, one coupon per item and the RR counts as a coupon. I’ll need a filler and hopefully they’ll have some clearance xmas pens or something for 0.10.
Don’t need diapers? Then surely you can find something else to use it to purchase. If I do go in and find the Electrasol, I know I don’t want to have Register Rewards when I come out. With their short expiration date and limited restriction, I’ve grown tired of trying to continuously roll them.
Clearance Finds & Coupons
I said yesterday that I found some great clearance deals at the Kennett Walmart. I also found some good ones at the Avondale Acme. They finally marked down the stuff some more!
January and February are big clearance months. Lots of excess xmas merchandise to get rid of. And typically stores do inventory the first quarter of the year, and they’d rather sell it than count it. Keep your eyes peeled as I am sure there are lots of good deals to be found. The drug stores have started clearancing cosmetics and both the Kennett Rite Aid and Landenberg CVS and Walgreen’s have cheap makeup.
From my experience, these are the stores that allow you to use coupons on clearanced merchandise:
Walmart
Kmart
Target
CVS
Walgreen’s
Peebles
JCPenney
Kohl’s
Carter’s & Osh Kosh
There might be more, those are the stores I frequent the most.
my Wednesday morning-Dollar General & Rite Aid
Holidays are over, back to my usual Wednesday morning routine of having that first hour in the morning to myself. I’ve decided that I want to learn Rite Aid this year, as I see lots of freebies being posted online from there. I went in, grabbed two sales flyers–the weekly and monthly, and walked around. I didn’t look online yet, because for me it’s easier to try to learn it on my own, then look online to see what deals are being done. My only purchase was four fleece blankets at $0.75 each. It’s not very good quality fleece, but I plan on using them to line the dog crates.
Next I went to Dollar General and debated whether to use my Olay coupons for the free body wash. I decided against it–the coupons are good until next 12/31 and I may want them for a better deal at some point. That and I have a several-years-supply of body wash, so definitely not a necessity.
I found Valentine’s Day cards–they were all $1 for anywhere from 25-35 count. And…they’re good ones, not crappy ones. Lots of licensed characters like Disney Cars, Toy Story, the Princesses, and of course, for my boys…….Sesame Street! This is the first I’ve ever found Sesame Street valentines, so I got two boxes. Each card comes with a sticker for the child, so I decided against purchasing any accompanying candy or lollipops. My one boy is still just a year old and the other is special needs, so I have to be super choosy on what treats I purchase anyway due to choking hazards and dietary restrictions, so stickers work just great for us. They had some with tattoos too, but not in SS.
Dollar General also had a bunch of kids’ clothes marked down 75% and I’ve found decent toddler clothing there before. They carry some licensed playwear and I’ve found Sesame Street sweatshirts there. There also are numerous $5 off $25 coupons out there, google it, like them on facebook and I’m sure you’ll get a hit.
My big out of pocket expenses came to $5.30 total, for two boxes of valentines and four fleece blankets.
New: The consignment store for furniture has moved from near Kennett Beverage to that shopping center. I thought they had gone out of business. But they’re around that corner from Dollar General. If you need furniture or have some to unload, stop in. Last time I was there I saw some decent buys.
