Find your Walgreen’s ad for Sept 28-Oct 4

Ok, I just glanced over the ad when it came in the mail last week. But the ad itself is getting a ton of discussion action on hotcouponworld. So I need to check it out.

Yesterday we all got P&G inserts in our papers, hope you still have them. There are several P&G register reward deals going on. I haven’t studied the details just yet, but my plan is to spend $10-$15 on P&G products, perhaps even the toothbrushes, so that I can then earn at least $14 in RR. With that RR, I will then do the Huggies deal, generate another $3 and probably go back and get more RR from P&G items.

After Kevin goes to be tonight, I’ll study the ad more and post some details. Until then, check out the discussion link. Yes there are 50 thank yous you have to weed through, but good info to be found.

Economic Crisis

Seeing as this is a bargain blog, I’d feel silly if I didn’t at least mention the current economic crisis. Is the sky falling? Hell if I know. I’m just a working mom who likes to follow politics, I’m hardly a Harvard economist.

But I will try harder to keep up with this blog and post more bargains. I just haven’t had much time lately but will make more of an effort. The bargains are getting harder to find–manufacturers and retailers are cutting back. That doesn’t mean that there isn’t cheap or free stuff out there, we just have to work harder to find it.

In the meantime, unlike our politicians, let’s work together on this. If you find a deal, post it in the comments. We’ve made it through other lean times and we’ll make it through this too. Just keep those scissors, coupons, circulars and your internet handy–and we’ll all try to keep our spending down.

My Acme deals from yesterday

I had a pretty good day at Acme yesterday. I had a cart filled with $200 worth of stuff, saved $92.

Sargento cheese, Eggos and Birds Eye veggies–all were the 4 for 10, then 4 for $7 with instant savings at register. I also had $1 off 2 coupons for all of those items, so mine were 4 for $5.

Yoplait yogurt–on sale and lots of coupons out there

Campbell’s soup–lots of varieties on sale, lots of coupons out there. I don’t remember the exact deal.

Lipton tea- in the bottles for $1 each. I had $0.50 tearpads, I think I found them at CVS. So free iced tea.

Gold Peak tea-in the bottles for $1. I had $1 off 2 coupons from an Acme tearpad, so $0.50 each.

Mott’s juice was also on sale; similar to 4 for 10. I had $1 off 3 coupon, so I ended up getting 4 big bottles for $1.50 each. Not bad–reg price is 3.99 and Kevin really likes this juice.

Snacks-two good deals. Herr’s is 3 for $6, or $2 a bag. Snyder’s is 1.93 a bag, and there are peelies on the bags for buy 2 bags, get a 2-liter for free. I got the Snyder’s because I wanted pretzels instead of chips.

Palmolive–if you have the $0.75 coupon, it’s on sale $2, so your doubled coupon makes it $0.50.

Electrasol-on sale for $3.50, so $1.25 after the $2.25 coupon. Hardly free, but an ok price and I just hate to see a high value coupon go to waste and they do expire soon.

*Instant Savings Alert* Double check your receipt before you leave the store. One of my deals did not take the $3 off and I had to go claim it at the CS desk. Hey, 3 bucks is 3 bucks!

a few things at CVS this week

Dawn is on sale for 0.99. The hand renewal kind is reported to be scanning at 0.99 even though it’s not marked. There were $1 coupons in the Sept P&G inserts, so if you still have that coupon it will be free.

Cover Girl foundation is 5.49 with 5.49 back in ecb. If you get a bogo coupon in today’s paper (not in Inqy) you can get 2 items for free if you have ECBs to roll.

Gillette Fusion-use the $4 coupon from today’s paper and roll your ECBs, this will be 0.99.

CVS brand diapers-I only like the Snoopy ones, but if they have those and you got the in-store coupon for these, will make for some cheap diapers.

Kleenex, if you like them–bogo, so…….
2.19 Kleenex
0.00 bogo Kleenex
2.19 Kleenex
0.00 bogo Kleenex
Minus the $1 off 3 boxes coupon
3.38 total for 4 boxes, roughly 0.90 a box.
