No coupons? No problem!

Here is this week’s “No coupons? No problem!” post. This is a post where you can still look & act like a supercouponer, without all that clipping.

My pick for this week would definitely be the Hallmark offer at Giant. Buy any three Hallmark cards and get a coupon for $5 off your next order. The $0.99 cards are working towards this deal, so you can spend less than $3, and get $5 back. I also added some details as to how you can roll that oyno catalina into some Scott products and back again.

Walgreens is a good choice this week too. Go check out the GUM flossers, the ones that are $2, get $2 back. Buy them, then spend the $2 on the Right Guard deodorant–which is $2.99 with $2 back. Now, you still have $2 in RRs, two items….check out the other razors and P&G cleaning items that are on sale and offering RRs back. Just don’t forget the rules of Walgreens. It can be complicated, but once you learn them, it’s a fun store.

Have fun & let us know what you get.

Headed back to Giant-Scott & Hallmark deals

Last night I was poking around online and found some more Giant deals at hcw. I think I may go back this week and do some of these.

First, Hallmark has a promo that is buy any three Hallmark cards, get a $5 catalina on your next order (oyno). The $0.99 cards are working. And, Giant automatically deducts 10% from the sticker prices of cards, so you only pay about $2.75, get $5 back. Nice!

The second is a Scott deal. A bit more complicated-you have to buy different categories of Scott products. Buy two and you’ll get $2 oyno, buy three and get $3 oyno. But this is categories, not items. In other words, buy a toilet paper and a tissue, or a toilet paper and a Scott wet wipes. NOT two toilet papers or two tissues.

And, this is a wrench in the works and one of the reasons I don’t like Giant. When you get your $5 Hallmark catalinas, it’s being reported that you can only use one at a time, or one per transaction. So even though this deal stacks (buy 15 cards, get $25 oyno) you wouldn’t be able to use them all at once anyway. It is however, a nice way to get started on the diaper deal I posted yesterday.

Last night while we were eating dinner, I was thinking to myself how many freakin’ napkins we go through at each meal. And I thought about going back to Acme to do a deal on the Bounty napkins. Now I may see if the Scott ones work instead. Hmmm, I don’t usually like Giant, but definitely warming up to them this week!

Woohoo! Success at Giant with the Pampers deal!

Giant has two overlapping deals this week. One is a $25 mail-in-rebate offer when you spend $100 on P&G items. The other is a $5 back when you spend $20 on Pampers (a P&G item). Note that the $5 catalina you get back is ONLY good on Pampers items and says so right on it. There are lots of ways you could do this, this is what I did:

$19.99-box of Pampers

$2.69 tub-of Pampers wipes

For the first transaction, I was successfully able to use my $5 catalina that I got at Acme over the weekend. I also have the $0.20/wipes coupons from yesterday’s paper and various Pampers diapers coupons from the paper and home mailers. Anywhere from $1.50 to $3 off. Each transaction cost me about $15.xx for both after coupons & $5 catalina, and for each transaction, $23 worth of P&G credit towards the $100 would show up on my receipt. So I did the box of diapers/wipes transaction four times, which took me to about $92. I did get some Easy Ups and they are included in the promo.

Last transaction, just one jumbo pack ($8.99) and I used the $5 catalina AND a $1.50 coupon. That transaction only cost me $2.48 or something like that.

My final out of pocket was about $66, and I’ll send in the rebate form to get a $25 Visa gift card back.

$41 final total, for four big boxes of diapers, one jumbo pack of diapers and four tubs of wipes.

Of course once all was said & done and I was driving home, I realized I probably could have done better.

Two jumbo packs X 8.99=17.98 plus one tub of wipes at 2.69=20.67

From there, use two diaper coupons instead of one and one wipes coupon doubled- ($1.50+$1.50+$.40)=20.67-3.40-$5 catalina=$12.27 per transaction. But that one you would have to do five times to hit the $100. Final oop would be roughly $61, then $25 back, or $36 final total. You may end up with fewer diapers though. I think a big box has more than two jumbo packs, but you’d have ten jumbo packs & five tubs of wipes for $36 if you did it that way. Still a good deal.

The Kandoo are $1.99 and I have $1 home mailer coupons, but I didn’t try it. Was tempted but wasn’t positive it would generate the catalina so I skipped it. Also, Giant had zero Pampers swim diapers and I was interested in them for my jumbo pack, but oh well.

Diaper prices this week, May 1

Pampers coupons in today’s paper, Huggies was 4/17 inserts. Pampers/Luvs rarely if ever does printables. Huggies does quite often, check coupons dot com toolbar on this blog. Remember to use a phone/calculator to determine price per diaper that you’re paying. Try to stay at $0.20 per diaper or less. Under $0.02 each per wipe. Under $0.15 per diaper or $0.01 per wipe is my stockup price.

Target-has big boxes of both for 19.99/each. $5 gc wyb two boxes.

Kmart-no Huggies sale listed. Pampers is a P&G item and they are running a $10/$35 promo. I would get four jumbo packs to put me over the $35 limit, then use four coupons.

CVS-nothing listed, assume regular prices

Walgreens-has their store brand on sale for $5.99. Use the $2 coupon from infant care booklet to pay $3.99 each. That gets you down to about $0.12-$0.15 per diaper! Ask for the $2 coupon back, but ymmv. They are allowed to return it to you, but don’t have to. And one coupon should take $2 off of every pack you get.

Acme-big box is 19.99 and included in the $5/$20 P&G deal. But you’ll have to buy a cheap P&G filler item, or something you need, to get over the $20.

Giant-this is my plan. Will update you if it works.

My two picks for this week would be the Walgreens deal if you have the infant care booklet. That’s the easiest deal-no rebates to be bothered with or catalinas to roll. But I love Pampers best, so for that reason, I’m still going to try Giant.
