Family & Individual mini grants for autism-PA families only

If you are a Pennsylvania family that has a person living with autism in your household (and yes, it included adults) then here’s a reminder:

The 2011 Bureau of Autism Services Mini Grants application process is beginning soon. Here’s what you need to do-
On Friday, February 18, after the close of business (I’m assuming around 4:30 or 5 pm), contact the DPW one of two ways.

You can call them at 866-539-7689, pick option #2 and follow the directions.

Or email them at autismoffice@state.pa.us after close of business on that day. Include your name, address, complete mailing address and a phone number with area code. Request that the full application packet be mailed to you.

This year, the office is also holding a webcast to walk you through the application process. It can be viewed at:
http://bastraining.acrobat.com/p53796987/
That website will not be live until after close of business on the 18th.

Fwiw, my $0.02. In the past, this was kind of an unknown thing. Families knew about them, and applied, etc. This year, I have seen this thing everywhere! Due to social media, et., this thing is very well publicized this year. That shouldn’t stop anyone from applying, just know that there will probably be more competition this year, so put your best application forward.

My Wednesday morning outing, a few finds at CVS, Walgreen’s, Acme, Peebles

I did the Conagra deal at Acme on Monday as part of my regular trip. Wanted the micro bowls of Chef Boyardee for boys’ lunches. Went to Lantana Square store to roll that into some diced tomatoes, mustard and Kid Cuisine.

Clairol hair color is clearanced to $2. I had the $2 coupons that came inside packages.

The French’s Honey Mustard dip is $1.49, I had a $.75 that doubled. I only had one, it’s from the 1/23 inserts.

There were a lot of P&G deodorants on clearance but I don’t have those coupons clipped, I know they’re out there–Old Spice, Secret, etc.

I got six Kid Cuisines, two Shine Happy hair colors, three Gulden’s mustards, one French’s dip, all for $4.99 and I got $10 back. Not bad.

Walgreen’s-some decent clearance. I found a $1 thing of Tylenol, and I had the $1 Tylenol printable that I posted a few weeks ago. I had $10 in Register Rewards to spend. Next week (the 27th) there will be a good moneymaker deal on Motrin, so I wasn’t at all concerned with ‘rolling’ my RRs into something else that will produce RRs. Just figured I’d spend them, then take a Walgreen’s break until the Motrin deal. I got the Tylenol, this Sesame Street book that has a whole bunch of magnets to go with it (Easter basket!) and some cheap VDay candy (needed fillers to accommodate the 1 coupon per item rule). Paid $.28 oop. The book was $8.99 and my boys have asked for it several times when we’ve gone, now they’re getting it.

If you didn’t get to do the Garnier hair color deal from last week-no worries! It’s on clearance now for $3.99, so if you have the $3 coupons, just $0.99!

CVS-some are getting an awesome Physician’s Formula coupon when they stick their card under the scanner. It’s a high value one, like $7 or $8 or something. I was not so lucky. I needed to refill an Rx, so I poked around. Got the Listerine that is producing Extra Bucks and I had $1 coupons. I try to stay brand loyal to the purple Listerine when we can. Several items in every dept on clearance.

Peebles-it was pretty well picked over. Kids department had NOTHING. I got two tops for really cheap. I found one knit top from Columbia that I really liked but it had black grease marks on it. Normally I’ll ask for more $$ off and try to get it out, but I don’t think it would come out and it was a white top.

No “you must go out and get this!” deals today, kinda slow right now I guess. I’ll still go to Acme one more time, probably tomorrow and do one more transaction of Conagra stuff.

Sigg Water Bottles-$9-$12

For three days, Totsy is running a half-off sale on Sigg water bottles. This makes them about $9-$12 each. A few years ago, whenever all those reports about BPA & plastic water bottles came out, Sigg became very popular. They are offering some very cool designs for both kids & adults as part of the sale.

You will have to join Totsy to see the page or purchase the bottles. Totsy is one of those daily deal sites that is mostly kid stuff, but like today, some things for adults. That link to join is my referral link.
