Picture People-$18 deal

If you click the coupons.com affiliate banner above, you’ll see a coupon for the picture people for $18. I didn’t print the coupon, but purchased the same $18 deal from Living Social when it was available. It’s a good deal–you get one big print either 8×10 or 10×13, two 5×7, two 4×6 and a sheet of wallets, eight I think.

We’re going this weekend. I bought the boys complementing polo shirts and they’ll wear khakis. I’ve always been really pleased with the photos I’ve gotten at Picture People. We usually go twice a year. If you’re friends w/me on Facebook, my current profile pic is a photo from there, from last year.

If you choose other prints, a money saving tip is to skip their frames and just buy the prints. Their frames have incredible markup on them and you can get similar stuff at Kohl’s or someplace for about a third of the price. You may want to purchase their matting and you can get that without getting the frame. I like the sets they do with a big picture in the middle and two smaller ones on the side, and matting like that would be hard to find separately, I would think.

School’s Out Mondays at Longwood Gardens

If you picked up the Groupon deal when it was available, Monday might be a good day to use it.

Weekends! The Fun & Frugal way!

Here comes the weekend! Let’s have fun without busting the budget.

First, for locals, Brandywine Prime does half price burgers every Friday night. These are award winning burgers, we’re going next Friday with some family.

The library in Kennett is doing a Lego something, I think on the 19th. Saw it on the marquee as I was driving by. Call them for more info.

Cabela’s has FREE fishing seminars every Saturday & Sunday.

Beware-since it is a holiday weekend, every store around us is going to be having sales & deals. Just remind yourself, great price vs. great deal. And frugal living doesn’t necessarily mean buying the cheapest items; it’s about deciding what you want, then finding the lowest price you can get.

Winter clothing will be on clearance at rock bottom prices everywhere. Make sure you try it on, and make sure you have something to wear it with. Otherwise, it will sit in your closet unworn, and $$ wasted.

I posted it earlier in the week, but all weekend, the QVC outlets are having big sales, including half off all Dooney & Bourke.

And who doesn’t love a shoe sale? I have two to tell you about. The first is, if you have a Nordstrom Rack near you, they are having a large size sale this weekend. They are specifically promoting women’s shoes size 10-13. I know how hard it is to find stuff when you are a hard-to-find size, my family is full of folks in this category. The second is Shuze, with two locations in the Lehigh Valley, is having sales & discounts right now, up to 75% off.

The Chik Fil A at Concord Mall will be having childrens storytime from 11-12 on Monday. Check your local store for their events.

Barnes & Noble stores are having American Girl events this weekend, check your local store for exact times.

The Constitution Center in center city is having special Presidents’ Day exhibits.

I’m debating whether or not to head up to the new Philadelphia Premium Outlets. I haven’t been there yet.
Some reasons why I’d want to go:
Cabi-whole store 25-40% off
Last Call, Neiman Marcus-25% off whole store
Le Creuset, 20-35% off all items
Lindt-100 truffles for $30
Merrell-end of season sale
Yankee Candle-mediums are 3 for $25, plus there are printables floating around web; tip-I have a friend who works at a mall store, and she said it is their policy to accept coupons for six months past expiration date.

I’ll post more if I find more.

Free Tide at Superfresh-UPDATE! (plus some clearance finds)

From what I’m reading online, the $5.99 price for Tide is the regular price, not sale. So log in to your esavings, get $3.35 off. Clip the $3 coupon from 1/30 and voila, free!

This throws a wrench in the works for my plans for the P&G deal that starts tomorrow, but that’s ok. Free is much better than cheap.

Just got back from SF. I did not see any Tide for 5.99. I did however, find some for $3.79. Tested it, and it took the $3 off from my esavings, but did not take off the $0.35 (even though I know I clicked that one too).

Went back for more. Ack–it’s only taking $3 off once! And I purchased 9. The manager was more than accommodating, but if you want it to be hassle free, ring them up separately at self checkout. Also, I had $1 off ANY Tide stain release, they were the big cardboard coupons that come in with the Pampers, they worked just fine in addition to the esavings, so it’s a small moneymaker, so find a filler so your total isn’t in the negative.

Also, lots of J&J on clearance for $2.24, if you have the $1 J&J coupons that are out, there are tons of them to be found, from inserts to home mailers to inside packages. Aveeno baby on clearance too and I had lots of $1 coupons for that.

Butterfinger snackerz are on clearance already for $0.40, so if you have the $1 off 2 printables that were out, that’s also a small moneymaker.

Love freebies!
