Donors Choose matching codes from Savings.com~ends February 24!

We are in the final days of the special matching code for Donors Choose from Savings.com. As most of you know, I ran a promo and giveaway and we (me, Donors Choose and Savings.com) gave one lucky winner $75 towards her Donors Choose project. Today I got a thank you note from her, and I wanted to share it with you:

Dear Lisa L,

I can’t begin to thank you enough for helping fund our project, Hoping For A Netbook. This Netbook will be such a great addition to our classroom. My students and I are so excited to receive this great piece of technology. Your thoughtfulness and generosity are sincerely appreciated. This is something we would never have been able to have done without you.
Again, thank you so much for your help in getting us the Netbook. You are the greatest and your dedication to education is admirable. With gratitude,
Ms. P

That just makes me all warm and fuzzy inside and I’m so glad that you helped. Together, all the Smart Spenders helped to fund a total of *8* projects! That’s really something to be proud of. I also know that the warm and fuzzies spread to other blogs and several projects were funded on those giveaways as well.

Use the code SAVINGS when you visit www.donorschoose.org/savings and Savings.com will match your donation up to $100!

Donors Choose Giveaway…..and the winner is………

I have mixed emotions about counting the votes and finding a winner……..you know if I won Powerball I would have funded all the projects. But I didn’t even buy a ticket, so here we go.

Our winner is……….#22, with 234 votes!

2nd place was #14 with 95 votes and #20 was close behind with 94 votes.

I am so happy that throughout the duration of this contest, that more than a half-dozen projects received their funding. I can’t take all the credit, but I am glad that I got some of you some added exposure.

~Vote daily to win $75 for your favorite Donors Choose project~ends February 4.

Welcome to Part 2 of this awesome giveaway! For the past two days, I’ve been taking your suggestions on which project to give the $75 to. At first, I was nervous because no one posted any suggestions. Then, they started to trickle in……and I liked all the ideas. It was really hard to choose. Then I made a mental note, that if I had less than 25 entries, I would include them all. Then as that number crept closer to 25, I wondered who I would cut if I had too. Then, once again, I just decided I would include them all. So here they are. I felt they all deserved a chance. They all tugged at my heartstrings. Most are from very high poverty areas, many are special needs classrooms or both special needs and high poverty.

About Donors Choose: Approximately 40 percent of schools across the U.S. use DonorsChoose.org, an innovative online charity that makes it easy for anyone to help students in need.  Public school teachers across the country post specific requests to support their classroom projects, ranging from pencils for a poetry writing unit, to violins for a school recital, to microscope slides for a biology class.  Visitors to the website decide which project they would like to support and DonorsChoose.org delivers materials to the school once a project reaches its funding goal. And Savings.com is helping you make your money go further when you give back to a school in need.

Use the gift code SAVINGS anytime between January 27 and February 24 on Donorschoose.org/savings, and Donors Choose will match your donation up to $100. Please look at the projects, and not just vote, but consider giving a small donation. Remember, Savings.com is going to match it!

The prize for this giveaway is as follows: I’m donating $25, which Savings.com will match. Donors Choose is also donating a $25 gift card, which brings the total to $75. Contest ends at midnight on February 4. You may vote for one project, once a day.

I will try my best to post updates of the scores, but  the Rafflecopter format isn’t that conducive to doing that. I’ll try, but can’t promise! Make sure you choose my follow options so that you are alerted of the score updates as well as reminded to vote daily.

Good Luck! And in my heart, I really wish I had money to fund all of your projects.
