Dollar General, new coupon policy

I really don’t want to blame all these changes on one tv show……..I find it hard to believe that one cable TV show wields that much power over America’s retailers. But then again, when you broadcast a show that spells out exactly how to misuse coupons, maybe it is why.

Dollar General is the newest store on the list to tighten the reins. Read the new policy here.

Some of the highlights, or should I call them lowlights?

No more overage. Well that sucks.

No more coupons for “free” items, regardless of source. This means, that even if they carry the $1 packs of Carefree/Stayfree and you have the coupon that says “free” on it, published by the manufacturer……..it’s a no-go. I also bet that if we find $1 items and match them with valid $1 coupons, they’ll be turned down.

If they don’t scan, or if the cashier can’t get a code to enter in the register, you’re SOL.

Well, you can read the rest. This will mean fewer trips to DG for me, for sure.

I really, really am beginning to loathe that TV show. I have yet to see one thing positive come out of it, except ratings for a network.

DG printables-$2 Huggies & 25% summer stuff

There’s no Dollar General weekly ad this week, so I’m not doing matchups. They have changed up their assortment of printables. Included now are a $2 Huggies printable, and usually these are separate from the other printables you find online. In other words, even if I’ve recently printed the others, I’m usually still able to print this one. And, there’s a store coupon good until 4/29 for all summer tableware & drinkware. I don’t know why we wouldn’t be able to stack this with any other Hefty/Chinet/Dixie mfr coupons we have–that stuff should be included since it’s summer bbq season.

Dollar General, April 17-24 highlights & matchups; possible free Nivea & Zyrtec

**Some shoppers are reporting that the Nivea body wash is only $2.50 there, thus creating $0.50 overage! Make sure you have something to use up the overage so you don’t get beeped outta there.

For newer readers, I list matchups only for insert coupons and whatever printable links I can find. Tearpads, peelies, magazines–just too spotty. Always feel free to check the hotcouponworld database for more options. I also don’t list coupon amounts because they vary so much.

Saturday Errand Picks-Lowe’s, Walgreen’s, CVS, Target, DG-freebies!

Yes, I’m doing this post early, I don’t normally do it until Friday night or Saturday morning. But I just got so busy this week and overlooked some deals or didn’t get around to posting them, sorry! Sometimes it’s very slow in trying to find deals, sometimes there are too many to keep track. And some of these deals are good and you may want to do them Friday or Saturday, so as not to miss out.

Lowe’s has a $10 off $50 offer available.

CVS-Physician’s Formula, offering a $7 Extra Care Buck when you buy any Physician’s Formula item. It’s reported to be working on all PF items, even those that are less than $7. NOT clearance items. To make it better, some of the items have a “try me free” rebate form stuck to them as a peelie. Remember that this rebate is only up to $11, so even if you spend more than that, you’ll only get $11 back. And, it’s limit 1 per household, so if you’ve already done it (I have) you may not get your check in the mail. But, there also are $5 off PF coupons spitting out of the magic coupon scanner, I was unfortunately not lucky enough to get one. Still I found a cool eyeliner I wanted to try for $7.89, used the $1 coupon from the 3/20 inserts and got my $7 back. You can stack both coupons if you are lucky enough to get the $5 one.

Target-the 3/13 inserts had $2 coupons for Purex crystals. On the Target website, there is a $1 store printable. Stack the coupons and get the item, currently on sale for $2.99, for FREE! (Locals, I won’t be using my coupons, will bring them on Saturday if anyone wants to run up there Sat. & get them.) Target website will limit you to two prints per computer.

Dollar General-for Saturday only, there is a $5/$20 apparel-only coupon. Good only Saturday. Oops, already said that. But I’ve found Sesame Street licensed apparel there before, for cheap. And I know my friends have found cute things there too–they carry Fisher Price and some Health Tex, I forget what other brands for kids. For adults, think of work t-shirts or stuff like that. They also sell scrubs if you need an extra set or two for your job.

See, that is a LOT of deals, too much to do in one day!
