Just *4* hours left for this wine tasting deal

Here is a link to one of this week’s Groupon deals. It’s for a wine tasting and bottle of wine at Flickerwood in Kennett Square. They have a really great setting and the women who work there are a lot of fun. This will be a really nice voucher to have this winter when you get cabin fever and want to get out for a day. You have about six months to redeem this offer, and when you do………..go next door, I work right next door!

My Wednesday mornings

On Wednesdays, I have to have my 4-year-old to his therapy appt by 8:20 or so, and then I don’t have to be at work until 9:30, which is only five minutes away. This is a new routine for us and I had been just going home and then going to work. But recently I’ve decided that I will use that time to hop back on the CVS/Walgreen’s and possibly Rite Aid train, and load up on freebies again. After all, I really enjoy doing it, it costs me almost nothing, and our neighborhood is having a yard sale in 2011, so I’d like to see what I can stock up on & sell.

So here’s what I did yesterday:

CVS: The only deal I was interested in was the Glade candles. They are $2.50 each, with $4 ecb back when you spend $10. I got four, used four $1 off 1 coupons from the Safeway booklet and  a $5 ecb. Paid $1 and tax, got $4 ecb back. I really like the Glade jar candles and think they are equal in quality and scent to any Yankee candle.

Walgreens: Walgreens has been going crazy with the Register Rewards lately, though know they’re called Jingle Cash. I still call them RRs, old habits die hard. But while they are offering more good deals on them, there are more restrictions. If you earn one of the transaction RRs, such as get $5 back when you spend $25, it will NOT roll into another transaction. Or, for the next transaction, you have to take it into your figuring–and spend $30, then use your $5 one. And no matter how many you earn, you can only use one per transaction (of the super jingle cash) and they’re only good for one week. But hey, if I’ve somewhat committed to going every Wednesday, that shouldn’t be a problem.

So, here are some deals I used to put together my transactions:

Huggies/Pullups: on sale for 2 for 18, get $3 back. This $3 back CAN be used with other jingle cash or RRs, just if you use it to pay for another set of Huggies, you won’t get that RR. Use these printables  to get even more off and a pretty good deal on diapers.

Ghirardelli: on sale 2 for 5, use the $1/2 printable that is found on printablecouponspot to pay 2 for 4. Nice stocking stuffer or gift for teacher.

Lindt truffles: on sale 2 for 5, I was unable to find coupons anywhere, but still a decent price for them.

Hershey’s Pot of Gold: another good stocking stuffer or small gift (think mail carriers, garbage men–yes I buy for my garbagemen)- on sale 2 for 9, get $3 back, use this printable to make it less.

Select Goody hair stuff is $2 with $2 back, use that to get to your $25, but only one per transaction, even if you get two, only one will print.

Kids’ Advil-there’s a wags coupon in the ad plus I have coupons from inside the packages for this. With two little ones, can never have enough.

If you use Olay–check out that deal. It’s get $4 back when you spend $20, plus if you get to $25, you’ll get another $5 back. I have home mailer coupons for $5, and if you use the Goody hair stuff as your filler to get to $25, should be a pretty good deal.

Hallmark also has two RR deals running right now, if you need greeting cards.

Happy Couponing!

Formula II Skin Care

I get so much hand & body lotion for free or close to it, I almost can’t believe I’m going to make this recommendation-that you actually pay for something, but I am.  This lotion is so good, it’s worth paying for. Formula II was developed locally by a couple of pharmacists. Every winter I have this recurring dry itchy rash, and nothing gets rid of it completely. I’ve slept with all sorts of balms and lotions and vaseline and gloves, and it still won’t go away. Even with two separate Rx from my doctor, still comes back every winter.

I tried Formula II and I can’t believe it, but my rash has gone away. It’s unscented, which I love and it’s so much more than a creme. It’s recommended for diaper rash, bed sores, diabetes care, all sorts of skin problems.

And HERE is where you can get yourself a 4 oz tube for just S&H, which is 4.95.

Vistaprint deals

I don’t know if you’re familiar with Vistaprint or not, but it’s a website that does labels, calendars, business cards, that sort of thing. I don’t think it’s a scam, but it is very gimmicky. Their gimmick is that they often offer a lot of stuff for “free” and you only pay S&H. These free deals come along so often, I find it hard to believe that they’re not calculating in at least some portion of the cost. Nevertheless, there are good deals to be had if you’re looking for personalized items such as greeting cards & announcements, business cards, calendars, mailing labels, clothing labels and that kind of stuff.  Then again, maybe they are willing to give away some stuff for free in hopes that you’ll place repeat orders.

I’ve found the quality of their products to be decent, but it takes forever. I would not recommend ordering xmas cards from them–at least not for this year! Give yourself several weeks’ worth of lead time when placing orders.  And there are many places to find Vistaprint codes, and don’t forget to enter the site via ebates.

Shopping codes for Vistaprint- here, here and here. And if you don’t find the deal you’re looking for in one of those links, simply do an internet search on “vistaprint free” or “vistaprint codes” and you’ll get lots of options.
