Update: CVS & Giant trips today

CVS-I went to the one in Jennersville, and there are $1 and $2 tearpad coupons laying around the cosmetic dept for the L’oreal stuff.

They have all their summer stuff down to 90% off–so I got grill brushes for $0.39 and the beach chairs are $1.49!!

They would not take my $2 Revlon coupon. It beeped at her and since it doesn’t have a picture of nail polish on it, she said I couldn’t use it for the nail polish.

Giant-The Maxwell House coffee is four for $8. I’m trying to wean myself off of expensive coffees. You must buy 4. But MH is a Kraft brand, so if you have any of those coupons for a free Kraft dressing or free Oscar Meyer hot dogs wyb 4 Kraft items, the coffee will count.

Overall at Giant, lots of good sales that match up with recent coupons–good savings to be had if you have the patience. My total came to $109–would have been $179 but I had $70 in coupon savings! It was crowded and I don’t know their floor plan that well anymore since the remodeling, so it took me 90mins, much longer than usual. But well worth it to save $70.

Finally some decent ECB deals at CVS-Sept 7

This week is a pretty decent week at CVS. Finally a chance to get some freebies and roll over your ECBs and even increase them.

Revlon nail polish: Pay $3.99, get $3 back in ECBs. Use your $2 Revlon coupons that were in the paper in recent weeks. Limit 3.

L’oreal: Several different L’oreal items (Age Perfect, Skin Genesis, Revitalift) are $5.99 with $5.99 back in ECBs. Use the $1 coupons that were in the papers in recent weeks, or go to www.lorealparisusa.com , click on skin care, answer a survey and get a $1 IP.

Right Guard/Soft & Dri: Pay $2.99, get $2 back in ECBs. $1 coupons in the paper a few weeks ago.

Excedrin: on sale for $1.99, so if you have any of the $2 coupons that were in the paper or online-free!

Also, most stores have summer stuff marked way down and are beginning to mark down Back to School stuff.

Going to Giant this week; week of Sept 7-13

Sorry for not posting in a while. I’ve been busy with work, and honestly, there haven’t been any deals anywhere to get super excited about. The Acme ad that started yesterday stinks. I don’t see even one good deal. For a change though, Giant is advertising some decent deals, so I think I’ll go there for what I need.

Dollar doublers: In the ad there are four $1 doublers, so make sure you pick out four $1 coupons you have (with items that you need) and use them. Perhaps the $1 GM cereal coupons, coupled with the sale (three for $6) will make for some cheap cereal.

Perdue whole chickens: $0.89/lb. These freeze well and make nice dinners for colder weather. I love comfort foods. I roast 2 at a time, as I have this great recipe thing from Rachael Ray. I have searched & searched online and can’t find it. It’s called Chicken 5 ways or something like that. Basically you spend one afternoon in the kitchen and then you have 5 different meals for the week. One is the roast chicken & mashed potatoes, shepherd’s pie with chicken, chicken enchiladas and I don’t remember the others–I haven’t made it since last winter. Admittedly, by Friday I was really sick of chicken, but it makes my week easier with working full time.

Hatfield bacon: bogo, this is my favorite bacon and freezes well.

Campbell’s soup: 5 for $3, coupons coming out this Sunday.

Green Giant steamers: $1 each, coupons coming out Sunday. EDIT: There are $1 off coupons at bettycrocker.com! FREEEEEEEEEEE!

Hatfield pork items: on sale and there are $1 coupons out.

Dannon yogurt: some varieties on sale and there were coupons out 2-3 weeks ago.

Pillsbury: lots of items on sale and coupons were out a few weeks ago or online.

Maier’s bread: bogo. Freeze it!

Ronzoni healthy harvest pasta: four for $5, $1 coupons out

Dole classic salad: $0.85!! Great price for a bag of salad.

$0.85 sale–see insert for other special $0.85 items. Also in that ad–buy 8 items (see what is listed) and get $5 oyno. Lots of corresponding coupons for those items will be out this Sunday.

As always, don’t forget to check the online printable sites before you go: coupons.com, smartsource.com, eatbetteramerica.com, pillsbury.com or do a search for “xxx printable coupon” for your favorite items–you’ll be surprised at what pops up sometimes.

Random freebies w/coupons

Here is a list of some random free stuff if you have the coupons:

Dawn at CVS: The new Dawn that is supposed to be good for your hands is $0.99 at CVS. There were $1 coupons in Sunday’s paper.

GUM toothbrushes: These are $1 at Acme. There were either $1 or $0.75 coupons, depending on which newspaper you get, in recent weeks’ papers. The $0.75 will double to $1.50 for a small overage.

Excedrin: On sale at Walgreen’s for $1.99 and there were $2 coupons for this out recently. It also is giving $1 back in RR. Even if you choose to not go to Walgreen’s for the RR, it will be free at Walmart after coupon.

CVS ECB deals: If you have some ECBs at CVS, here’s a way to increase them by a $1. Kiss/Broadway nail stuff is buy 2 items, get $5 ECB. Until Saturday only. The little things of nail glue are $1.99, so two is $3.98. Spend $3.98 of your ECB, get $5 back. I tried this yesterday and it did work.

Cheerios: at Acme, must buy 10 boxes and have 10 coupons. On sale for 1.99, but if you buy 10, the price drops to $1.49. There were $0.75 coupons, which will double, out in the paper about 2-3 weeks ago. Even if you don’t have 10 coupons, $0.50 is a good price for a box of cereal. Make sure you’re getting the correct size & variety.
