Kmart trip–a bust

The Pike Creek Kmart is NOT doing superdoubles. Bummer. I should have called first.

I thought I could redeem the trip, as they had tons of good kids’ clothing on clearance for 2.99. I found several items, I also had registered on kmart.com to get a $5 off $50. I also had two of the $5 Huggies coupons to use and there’s a $25 Kmart/Glamour rebate, so I thought I would end up doing well after all.

And then my check card was denied. And so was a second one. How embarrassing. I forgot that we got new cards, and I had not called in my new ones to activate them. And they were sitting here, at home, on the kitchen counter. I had to have the cashier void the entire sale. This also meant I couldn’t stop at Acme as planned and get milk that we need.

Sigh………..

Kmart Superdoubles-limit may be 25

Even though the ad says limit of 75 coupons per customer per day, some shoppers have only been allowed to use 25. Cashiers and managers are claiming that the 75 is a misprint and that it’s supposed to be 25. It has happened in several parts of the country, but I haven’t heard of it happening locally. Just a heads up, so you’re not surprised if it happens to you. Personally, I would bring the ad with me and fight it, but you still could lose the argument.

I sort of planned on going tomorrow, but not sure. I went through all my inserts and all my coupons, and I don’t see any ‘can’t miss’ deals this time around. The only HBA item I need is deodorant and I don’t see any deals for that. I do not need shampoo or lotion or anything like that. And I don’t see many cleaning products that would be a great deal.

Thinking of hanging up my CVS card

So with the new baby and all, I unfortunately let $18 in ECBs expire. My fault, I know. I wrote to customer service & asked to have them reissued and they said no. My next option is just to go to the store and see if they’ll take expired ones–they’re only expired by a few days, but I’ve never had it happen before.

But overall I wasn’t really that upset about them expiring. I checked the ad for last week, and this week, and the new April book…….and nothing excites me. Nothing! There is a diaper deal coming up, but it’s another buy 20 or 25, get 5, so not a great return even with coupons.

Maybe this is it. Maybe I’ll just spend what ECBs I have and take a break for a while.

Kmart superdoubles are back

Got a pleasant surprise in tomorrow’s paper (I get most of it on Saturdays). In the Kmart ad it states that superdoubles are back next week. Usual deal, up to and including $2, no IPs, 75 coupon max. Hope I can find time to clip, organize and go……………..but I doubt it.
