Don’t forget Superfresh and Kmart

If you don’t live near an Acme or just don’t feel like doing this 15/30 deal, there are other bargains to be had this week.

Superfresh is doing triples. Here is the discussion thread again.

Kmart is having another Superdoubles week through Saturday, but it’s definitely not as good as last fall. First, only coupons up to and including $1, not $2, can be used this time. Still there are freebies and deals to be had, as reported on this thread on HCW. I have to go pick up some stuff at the vet on Friday or Saturday, so I may pop in for the Mott’s juice, but I also got it free at Walgreen’s this week. On sale for 1.79, used $1 coupon, paid with RRs. But Kevin loves that juice and I still have coupons left for it.

I did two more Acme transactions yesterday–catalina still rolling! But it looks like yukky weather today, so no shopping for me.

all good things must come to an end…………

My vacation that is. Back to school today, boo. I probably won’t go to Acme today because on Mondays I pick up my inserts. So tonight I’ll clip what I want/need as far as GM stuff and go back tomorrow. From what I’ve read on hcw, it’s all still working–the rolling and the shelf prices. A few items do not work even though they should, so make sure you check the thread before you go.

In other news……..looking for a place to use the $2.50 Electrasol coupon you got yesterday? Walgreen’s. It’s on sale for $3.50 this week there, and you can submit it for the monthly rebate for $1.50, so you actually make money on the deal. Even if you don’t do the monthly rebate thing, I think $1 is the best we’re going to find–most places the Electrasol is over $4. Finally a dishwasher detergent deal! I hadn’t done one since Rite Aid had the free/cheap Electrasol over the summer and was running low. Now between Walgreen’s and the Cascade at Acme, I’m back in business.

Sigh……..time to get ready for work. If my posts aren’t as frequent, you know why. This pesky work thing always gets in the way of my couponing hobby.

My visit to Acme-Lantana Square

I am totally addicted to this Acme deal. I went to Lantana Square this morning-it’s not far from my house, no sales tax, and the cashiers don’t know me there. Good news, bad news.

First transaction:
8 boxes of Cheerios–had to get 8 instead of 7, shelf price was 3.99.
After coupons, then card-paid $4.50 oop, got $15 back

#2:
3 packs of pampers, again! (Hey with one in diapers and one on the way, I never miss a diaper deal)
$30-$1 Q, that’s all I had left
$29 minus $25 in $5 cats, paid $4 oop.
Got back $15 + $5 again.

#3:
Bounty, Downy, 2 Cascades
Paid $3 oop after $5 cats, got $15 back

#4:
Bounty & Tide again
Paid $4 oop, got $15 back.

So the good news is that at least for me, in this area, the catalinas are rolling and shelf prices are working on aforementioned items.

Bad news: Lantana Square Acme has a piece of paper over the slot where you put coupons in self-checkout. A cashier/supervisor has to look over and approve (via keying in) all your coupons, including the $5 cats. I got a semi-grumpy older guy who was none too pleased with me. Mind you, he approved everything and didn’t say a word. At one point he said “Make sure you scan your Acme card first” which of course I didn’t do. I scanned it last. By the 4th transaction, I think he figured out I was rolling them, and as I was finishing up, he was on the phone with someone–maybe I’m paranoid, but I think he was talking about me. After all, it was 8 am Sunday morning, not many customers in the store. So I decided to call it a day and head to CVS & Wags. I still have $20 in $5 cats and a $5 baby cat left, I may stop tomorrow on my way home from work. Perhaps by then the Avondale Acme will have replenished their diaper supply. And my husband said “No more paper towels!” Ok, so I do have quite a few stacked up, probably at least 50 rolls (in multi-packs). But they are in the basement, not in our way, and in our household with 2 messy dogs and a toddler, we got through LOTS of paper towels.

Glucerna deal

Look at this post on iheartcvs and read how to get two $10 coupons for Glucerna. While the CVS deal mentioned in the post is over, Acme has a deal. In their ad it says “Buy these participating products, get up to $18 off” and Glucerna is pictured. Also pictured is the Special K protein stuff, which has coupons in today’s paper. So check it out, it looks like it could be a free or good deal if you need this stuff.
