I dislike Acme’s sale schedule

I am really starting to dislike Acme’s sale schedule. Retailers and manufacturers are not original nor creative. Chances are, if a manufacturer chooses to do a promo week, it will be everywhere-the stores, the coupon inserts, etc.

But since Acme’s sales start on a Friday and coupons don’t come out until Saturday or Sunday, this just isn’t working for me. Especially if it’s something I want to stock up on. Then I have to wait until Monday to pick up my inserts, hurriedly clip them Monday night, then I only have Tue/Wed/Thurs to go do the deals if I want to. Add to this scenario the fact that I work FT and am very fat and pregnant (read:tired!), it’s just really getting on my nerves lately.

I prefer to do my grocery shopping on Friday or Saturday. I went last night and there are several Kraft and Hatfield deals–how much do you wanna bet that there will be coupons in this week’s paper to match?

I wish they would do their deals starting on Sunday, like Giant. Then I would have the following Fri & Sat to get what I need. I haven’t really had stock issues at grocery stores like I do at CVS or Walgreen’s, so I don’t mind waiting.

Early morning vent over.

Pepsi coupon in Acme ad

On the back page of the new Acme ad, the one that starts today, there is a $5 Pepsi products coupon. It is a manufacturer’s coupon, not a store coupon. You should be able to use it anywhere. Both CVS and wags have good Pepsi deals going on right now, CVS has a new one starting Sunday.

20% off at Big Lots

Here you go, a coupon for Big Lots. I haven’t been there since before xmas, so I have no idea what their selection is like right now.

having trouble rolling ECBs

Since there were so many good deals and moneymakers at CVS the week of December 21, I have several ECBs that expire this week. They are terribly low-stocked right now so I’m taking a big hit rather than breaking even. Yesterday I had to go to the doctor, which is near the Kennett/Longwood CVS, so I went there. No throat coolers. Very little Gatorade left. I ended up spending a $33 ECB and only getting back $13. (Hallmark cards & Gatorade/Pepsi deal)

The day before that I was at Landenberg and again, no throat coolers, no cheezits. Had a $12 ECB to spend and only got $5 back (Hallmark cards, Cottonelle, Kleenex).

There’s a Huggies deal coming up next week, so I wanted to build up my ECBs, not use them up. Oh well, it happens.
