For new readers (Welcome from the Daily Local!), I started a series of posts last week about these two weeks. See, my son goes to school year-round, but has off this week and next. I have to keep them busy or it’s just a disaster.
Bumblebees & Sunflower at Coverdale Farm
Yesterday, we visited Coverdale Farm just south of Kennett Square. When I did my recap of the day, I did it from a special needs parenting perspective and that’s why it’s on my other blog. But it is a very budget friendly outing, check it out!
Today, well, not off to a great start. First, it was pouring down rain here this morning, so that caused me to change up plans. We ended up going to Kmart and Once Upon A Child in Pike Creek. Super exciting, huh? Here’s a tip that should be obvious to me, but for some reason it wasn’t–NEVER go shopping with a 2 year old, a 4 year old and a headache. I ended up buying not one, but two pairs of shoes for the boys, in wrong sizes! So now I have to go back which is a waste of time and gas. I did just ok at Once Upon A Child, brought them some things, they turned away more than they took as usual, and I walked out with $30. Then went down to Kmart and spent $28 so that’s basically a wash. Well, except for the fact that I’ll get $18 back for the shoes I have to return. But so far today, we haven’t spent anything really. And I did get lots of the boys fall/Halloween things out of the basement. What OUAC turned down, I just dumped in one of those donation bins.
They’re napping right now, when they wake up we’ll go to the park in West Grove so that they can play on the playground and then we’ll visit the growers market.
Tuesday–Tuesday didn’t cost us anything, we just stayed at home all day. Well, did our weekly grocery trip, saved lots of money with coupons as usual. Got lots of laundry done, but with this rain, I had to break my summer rule of not using the dryer.
