  • Box Tops for Education-Resource Page

As I said in my first post, I will be bringing back the BTFE resource page that I had on Lisa’s Bargain Alert. I’d love to just give you that link, but I have it set on redirect, so if you go over there, it automatically redirects you to Smart Spending Spot. So I’m going to copy & paste all of the information. I haven’t double checked to make sure that all the links are still valid; I apologize in advance if they’re not. But you at least get an idea of what to expect. The new resource page will be bigger & better, I promise!

I am the BTFE coordinator for my son’s school. That makes me very aware of the General Mills and BTFE promotions that are going on in my area. I like many of the BTFE products and was buying them anyway, getting catalinas and free stuff was just a bonus. Acme used to run fantastic General Mills promos that resulted in lots of freebies and $5 BTFE certs; but they’ve cut back. One collection period, I had over $255 in the $5 certificates for Kevin’s school. Think about it–I made a $255 donation to the school, and it didn’t cost me any money, just some time.

Here are some helpful links of printables and programs.

Box Tops for Education: the official website. Make sure you create an account here and find your child’s school. That way you can enter any online codes you get and shop online and the school gets credit.

BTFE printables– the printable coupons available on the BTFE site.

In your area: On this page, you can register to be kept informed about deals on BTFE products in your area. Deals such as “Get an extra $5 BTFE when you buy 10 participating products” and that type of thing.

Growing Local Learning-where you register the e-codes you get from BTFE.

Avery Design & Print– this is AWESOME! I make up little Ziplocs with stickers on them for the kids to take home. On it, I put the due date and a place for their name & classroom. Avery has ready-made templates with the BTFE logos on them, makes it sooooo easy. I use this all the time.

    List of participating products

Eat Better America: more printable coupons for BTFE products; check back after 1st of each month

General Mills: complete list of coupons and promotions for the GM family of products, great resource!

Pssst: This is the ‘preview’ and word-of-mouth marketing site for General Mills. Sign up here and you’ll get free new (BTFE) products to try. I just got an email that I’m getting a free full-sized box of Honey Nut something in the mail next week!

E-Box Tops: earn e-box tops from these merchants when you shop online. They even have a “Deals, Discount and Clearance” section….whheeeeee!

Individual Products: GM is such a HUGE family of products, it would be impossible for me to list them all. But each one also has it’s own website and promotions, like Cheerios, Bisquick Betty Crocker and more.

My other blog: I keep a blog for BTFE information just for my son’s school, or for the parents. It’s a good way to communicate contests, deadlines and things like that. It’s not a very active page, but you may want to check it out occasionally to get contest or collection ideas.

Box Tops for Education-news & updates

As I’m working on blog redesign, one of the elements in progress is the Box Tops for Education Resource Page. For new readers, I am the Box Tops coordinator at my son’s school, so I often post deals and offers related to BTFE. It was a very popular page on my blog when I was Lisa’s Bargain Alert and unfortunately it didn’t make the migration over here. But it will return, I promise! Last week I went to the Philadelphia Box Tops University, where we learned about some program updates.

Boise Paper-this is now a BTFE product. If you work in an office that orders paper by the case, consider ordering Boise so that you can earn more BTFEs for your school.

Other new products-Now the ENTIRE baking aisle of Betty Crocker will have BTFEs on them. ALL the brownie mixes, all the cake mixes, everything! Same with Toaster Strudel and Scramblers, now ALL will have them, not just some varieties. More Avery items will be carrying Box Tops. More Green Giant items. And a new product coming from Land O Lakes that I am very much anticipating-cinnamon sugar butter! Yum! Look for this new product soon and it will have BTFEs on it.

Earn an easy $0.50 for your school: If you are not already registered online at the Box Tops website, go there and do it now! When you register, your school earns an easy five Box Tops, just for you registering and picking a school. (If you don’t have a school to register with, please choose: First Step of Chester Cty in zip code 19382. We’re a very small school that could use the help!) It was also suggested that you get out a couple of laptops for Back to School or Meet the Teacher nights, so that parents can register right then & there. Great idea!

Hanes T-shirts: This is a great offer! If you have to order any t-shirts in bulk, listen up. Any order qualifies–so it can be a corporation, family reunion, sports team, school-anything. If you need to do a bulk order of tees, get Hanes. Then, all you have to do is submit your receipt to Hanes, and they will send you a Bonus Box Tops certificate, one per shirt. This is a great way, like if you or your spouse’s company does a work picnic and orders shirts, you can earn the BTFEs! More info on the Box Tops website.

Stay tuned for more great ideas and easy ways to earn money for your school.

Acme (Supervalu) ad, 4/29-5/5; highlights, matchups, P&G offer

If you don’t have any Acme, check your local Supervalu store (Cub, Osco, Albertson’s) because they may be doing the same thing.

**Check your vet’s office. I was there yesterday & they had put out more of the Iams $8 cat and dog food coupons. Mine was all cat coupons, one dog coupon, so that’s all I took this time.

Last P&G inserts were 4/3, they expire Saturday. New ones Sunday. PREVIEW

Hopefully you all have a bunch of home mailers to go with this promo too. You have to sign up when I post those links! The values of those are usually higher than what’s in the paper. With the $3 Tide coupon coming this Sunday, I see lots of possibilities if it’s not on knockdown. I need Bounty and Cascade, so that’s what I’m going to focus on. I’ll post what I get when I get it. But if you have anything to add, as far as possible transactions or more shelf prices, please leave a comment.

    Other offers:

GM products are 2 for $5, free milk wyb 5. Includes most cereals (ad doesn’t list specifics), NV granola bars, Toaster strudel, & Yoplait multipacks, BC fruit snacks. Yay! Boys are eating Yoplait this week. Printables, printables, printables, printables. If the cinnamon burst cheerios are included and you have the 0.75/1 coupons, 5 boxes of cereal plus a gallon of milk will be $5.

Sweet baby Ray’s is $1 this week. Hopefully some of you get the $1 off one coupons, lately mine have all been $1 off 2.

    Broccoli-0.99

    Strawberries-bogo at 4.99

    Hatfield stuff on sale, printables

Lots of Mexican items on sale because of Cinco de Mayo, so check your coupon binders for Old El Paso, Ortega, Pace, Rosarita and Mission coupons. Produce related to this is on sale as well-avocados, tomatoes, onions–and cheddar and ground beef. The Nature Sweet are 2 for 5 and there are $1 off 2s out. We like those.

Apple & Eve is 2 for 5, printables or look in your 3/6 inserts

Overall a decent week. I don’t see any freebies from the P&G offer, but I think we can all get what we need for very cheap as long as the stuff isn’t on knockdown.
