My Walmart finds

Yesterday Heather did a post about going to Walmart for the after Christmas sales, and it inspired me. I took B and went this morning. I found all the gift sets, but passed. If you live near Kennett Square, look near the Olay and Fusion gift sets (marked down to $5) because I RAOK’d my $2 coupons and sprinkled them all down the aisle shelves. Even at $3, I just have so many razors and body wash, I can’t justify spending it. I have to stick to my “only if it’s free” list and start using up my stockpile.

The Christmas clearance, however, is a different story. The fleece throws vary in price from $2-$6, so I picked up over a dozen. They’ll be my teacher gifts, mailman gifts, garbage man gifts and so on, for next year. End cap of Glade candles-$2 each. Used the $1 off 2s that I have.

I also bought the little junky stuff that is now $0.50-$1 a pack, the party favor type stuff in Christmas motif. I’ll use that next year, again, and make up little bags for K’s classmates. I did that this year and it was a hit.

Our store still had a decent assortment, though I couldn’t even stomach the thought of looking at more toys!

After Christmas sales~ad chat

I’m sitting here, having my coffee, surfing the web and perusing my Sunday paper (which I get on Saturdays). I’m pretty surprised at how thin the paper is.

JCPenney ad has a $10/$25 coupon on front page, plus a bunch of doorbusters from 6 am to 1 pm.

Target doesn’t have anything I’m interested in. They have, on the front page, a $75 gc back when you buy the PS3 or Xbox 360 bundles for $300. That seems odd to me–to be advertising that after Christmas. Maybe for kids who just get money from grandparents??

Kohl’s has a big ad, but it’s not any different from their other ads.

Ulta-has a $3.50 off $10 on front page of ad, plus we can pair that with Maybelline and L’oreal mfr coupons–and those brands are both on sale. Opens at 8 on Monday, first 100 people at each store get a $5 gc.

My favorites for December 26-

Yankee Candle-usually does 40% off

Big dept stores at mall–like Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, etc.-usually discounts deep enough to make it affordable

QVC outlet-deep deep discounts on fun stuff; I really like their Christmas things

Remember-make your list of everyone you need to buy for, think about teacher gifts and that kind of thing for NEXT YEAR! Yes, next year. But it all next week and store it.
