Superfresh ad May 6-12, highlights & matchups

Dear Superfresh, Why did you even bother putting out an ad this week? Isn’t the goal of your ads to entice me into coming to your store, because of your good sales? Where are they? Am I missing pages? Sincerely, me & my readers

Gah! Seriously, the ad is smaller & thinner than usual, and nothing great.

Perdue stuff incl. breasts-50% off, may not be bad if you have the $0.75 coupons that will double (4/10 inserts)

There is however a catalina offer that I’d like to get excited about. It’s Pepsi, Tropicana, Frito Lay, Gatorade and Unilever (Unilever is Ragu, Lipton, Hellmanns, Breyers, Bertolli, Suave, I forget what else). But here’s the thing-“See store for list of participating items!” The ad just has a big picture of some items (and the pic includes some Reese’s items (Hershey product) which is odd.

It’s either get $7 when you spend $25 or get $12 when you spend $40. There were decent Pepsi/Tropicana/Frito Lay coupons last week. It should work on shelf prices like all of their other deals, but we don’t know the sale prices. It’s very difficult to put together decent transactions without having the sale prices in front of you!

If we want to do this deal and try for free stuff, it’s going to require in-store planning, grrr. Do you know how hard that is with a 2-year-old and a 4-year-old? First I was disappointed that SF wasn’t doing the superdoubles, now this. There are some decent loss leaders on the front page, if you use those items. The Perdue. Chips Ahoy for $1.99. Strawberries for $1.99/lb. Smart Ones for 8 for $10. Barilla pasta for $0.88. OS Cranberry for $1.50.

But once you move past the first page, that’s it. I’ll keep my eye on the discussion boards to see if anything good pops up, but we also have to wait until Sunday/Monday for our Unilever coupons. I hope the Acme or Giant ads look better than this. Will keep everyone posted, please leave a comment if you find something good!

Superfresh is closing ALL Baltimore store in July! Not much point in having an ad when you’re not going to be around to sell it, is it? Goodbye, Baltimore, the boys at the top finally and totally screwed us.

    • That’s too bad. Honestly, all the supermarket closings in the mid-Atlantic region are really concerning. I hope that my SF or Acme isn’t the next to go!
