There’s a good deal out right now on the 2011 Entertainment Books, only $19.99 shipped. If you use just one restaurant coupon, you’ll get that back. I sometimes wonder if the Groupon/Living Social phenomena will make Entertainment Books obsolete, but for now they are alive, well, and full of great deals. And maybe the whole groupon thing just isn’t you, you prefer to have a book to go through at your leisure to pick a restaurant, rather than the frenzied BUY IT NOW mentality of the deal sites.
In any event, a few years ago, one of the owners of hcw wrote a guide to go along with the Entertainment Books. It’s very useful and gives you some out-of-the-box ideas for the coupons. For example, this is one of my favorites–go through the book and snag all the coupons for your favorite carryout restaurants, then keep them in an envelope in your car. That way you’ll always have them on hand if you want to pick something up on the way home from work. How ingenious.
