Many of you have told me that you look at the Sunday paper coupon inserts and just don’t know what to do with them. You think “I don’t use that product” or “I don’t know if it’s worth it.”
First, in order to save big bucks, you’re going to have to give up some brand loyalty on things. You will find great deals on your favorites, and that’s the time to stock up. But ask yourself this, as you’re looking at a product, you might think you won’t use it–but what if it was free? What if the the store actually paid you to walk out the door with it? Then would you use it? If your answer is still no, food banks are really hurting right now, so they could use more donations. And your local church or VFW is probably sending toiletries to soldiers, so consider donating there as well.
Ok–on to Sunday’s inserts and some highlights:
Vive Shampoo-coupon is for buy one, get one free, or bogo. Many stores will let you use a bogo coupon with a bogo sale. This week, Rite Aid and Walgreen’s both have the Vive shampoo on sale for bogo, so go in with your bogo coupon and get two bottles of shampoo for free. Next week it is on sale at CVS for bogo, and Rite Aid again.
Electrasol-$2.25 off. Electrasol tabs, 20 ct box, are 2.99 at Rite Aid and about 2.79 at Target. Prices at Walmart vary–I’ve seen anywhere from 2.67 to 3.67 reported on various bargain boards.
Vive-0.75 off. I used mine at Acme, where single rolls of Vive were 3 for $5. Acme doubles my 0.75 coupons to $1.50, so I only paid about 0.10 for each roll.
Powerade-$1 off. Powerade is on sale everywhere for anywhere from $0.79 to $1.00 a bottle. So you should be able to get it for free, or maybe even a little overage.
I used mine in conjunction with a fantastic deal at Acme, so I ended up getting 15 bottles of Powerade for -$2.00. That’s right, Acme paid me $2 to walk out with fifteen 32 oz bottles of Powerade. They had a special deal that was 15 bottles for $10. I had 8 of the coupons, so 8 X $1.50=$12. So I got a $2 overage to use on the rest of my grocery order. Even better yet–Acme had a deal with “Spend $20 on these products, get $8 off your next order”–and the Powerade was a part of that deal.
A tip from Dan: He doesn’t like the red flavor. I don’t care–at that price I’ll water the plants with it. Just kidding.
Those are all the coupons I was excited about. Stay tuned for a weekly posting on the coupon inserts.
