Backpacks-ratings & sales

That time of year! Recently one of my friends posted this article on Facebook, it rates backpacks. And so I was inspired to find you some deals on good backpacks.

First, Office Max is giving 100% back in rewards when you purchase select backpacks. Limit 2 per card.

Staples is only giving 50% back in rewards, but to me, it’s not worth going all the way down to Office Max. So, just depends on what is available to you.

the L.L.Bean classic backpack

L.L.Bean is offering free shipping, no minimum order. That’s the only deal they have right now. If you get an L.L.Bean Visa, you can begin earning L.L.Bean rewards AND get free monogramming. My two boys have monogrammed L.L.Bean backpacks with matching lunch boxes, and we love them. It was a splurge, I paid full price for it all, but don’t regret it. They have a timeless, classic look to them and they’ll last forever. If you live near a store, you may be able to find a clearance deal on a discontinued color or something. And their outlets have great deals on all things, including backpacks.

Hanna Anderssen-I was kinda surprised to see this on the list, I don’t really think about them for backpacks, only for their cute clothes. But at $28, that’s a good price for a backpack! And they are having a sale!

Adding the post I did about deals at Lands End the other day, since they are mentioned in the article. Plus, a friend posted about a deal going on at the Disney store, if your kids are into Disney. It’s on the Facebook wall.

Extra 10% off at Totsy, now thru 7/28

In celebration of hitting 100,000 fans on Facebook, Totsy is giving an extra 10% off your purchases. Use the code FB100K at checkout. With their already low, closeout prices–I’m definitely going to keep my eye on them for the next week.

If you don’t know Totsy–you need to join! It’s a members only site, but membership signup is very easy. They offer limited-time offers on closeouts of the biggest names in kids clothes and maternity wear. Toys and accessories too.

*Hot* deal at Half.com

I don’t blog about Half.com as much as I should. I use it all the time, for books. Right now I’m taking a class, and the instructor is always recommending more and more books. I get mine at Half.com. The last one I got–it was about $30 at all the big sites, I got it at half.com for $5.xx, shipped!

Here’s what they have right now, as far as stacking deals–this is a GREAT time to get textbooks if you need them.

Use code BTSAF15, and you’ll get 15% off a $50 order. Maximum is $40 in savings. But………go thru Ebates of course, so that you save another 4% cash back. Their prices are so low to begin with, it will be a struggle to get to $50, seriously! But I am getting the entire suggested reading list that she has given us so far, and I bet I’ll pay pennies on the dollar! Yippee!

They sell other things besides books-DVDs, CDs, etc. Great time to get textbooks, or build up your kids’ music selection. This is going to be fun!
