Whiskazz & Pawzz-Hockessin

I’m not sure if I spelled it right–but it’s that pet gift boutique down at Hockessin Corner. I was down there yesterday to pick up Better Cheddar at the Back Burner. Mmmmm, have you ever had that stuff? Definitely not a bargain, but yummy. Anyway, I saw a big banner at Whiskazz & Pawzz that December 26 is their last day of business. I haven’t been in there in years, but when I was they had cute things. I was running lots of errands yesterday so I didn’t have time to look–but maybe there are some good bargains due to going out of business. I am going to try to get there on 12/26.

Concord Pet sale & Santa at Pyle’s

Twice a year Concord Pet does a big sale where they offer either 25% or 30% off the entire store. Once in July and once is……..today! 30% isn’t huge savings, but I find that the pet stuff I need rarely goes on sale at all. If you participate in their Buy 10 bags, get 11th bag free program, any bags purchased today will not count towards your total, oh well. Every time I’ve gone it’s been pretty crowded, I usually go to the Yorklyn Rd location. I may try New London today, hopefully less crowded and we need new dog beds; although then I will pay sales tax.

And don’t forget, Santa is at Pyle’s again today from 10-2. They also are having various sales and if you got their flyer in the mail, there’s a 50% off one item coupon on the back.

Suet at Pyle’s

Pyle’s is having a pre-holiday holiday sale until December 1. Mailers went out last week. We have several bird feeders and really enjoy feeding the birds. They have suet cakes on sale for $0.77 which is the cheapest I’ve ever seen them. Pyle’s has had them as low as $0.88 in the past, but even at Lowe’s and Walmart, these things are $1.20-$2.00 a piece.

Their seed prices are pretty good too. If you have some airtight containers, I’d stock up for the winter. Mice will get into this stuff in your garage if not sealed properly, trust me!

I like Pyle’s and find their prices on many things to be competitive, without the hassle of going to the bigger stores. I really don’t like their xmas trees though. The only down side of shopping there is that I have to make a left out of there, which is difficult. You locals know what I’m talking about.
