Pet Supplies Plus has put out another $5 off $30 printable coupon. I haven’t printed it yet, so I can’t see the fine print. Usually they do not exclude food, which is good. Exp 9/27.
Flu shots~list of locations and special offers, deals, promotions~2012
Do you and your family get the flu shot each year? We do! And I’ve found that it’s easier, and often cheaper, to just go buy it someplace for my hubby and me. It saves us the hassle of having to make a doctor appointment, waiting in the waiting room, paying a copay and so on. The convenience of just walking in & out of a store has value, and the cost is usually in the ballpark since our copays are $20 or $25. Here is a roundup of promotions, in case you are looking.
I will update as I hear of new offers and promotions.
First, one of the most common questions I hear is “Where can I get a free flu shot?” Great question!
I haven’t found too many offers at the big retailers. Or any, actually. Your best bet is to look at the website of your local hospital or county health department. Those seem to be the facilities most likely to offer them for free or low cost. If you are a veteran, on Medicare or Medicaid, use WIC or EBT or anything similar to those services, contact your case manager or the website to see if they have recommendations.
CVS-get a 20% off coupon when you purchase a flu shot.
Walgreens-get 1500 bonus points when you purchase a flu shot. Must be a member of new rewards program, see banner over there—-> to sign up.
Acme-flu shot is $29.99. No other promos besides promotional price are listed at this time.
ShopRite-flu shot only $20 with your price club card.
Chester County Health Department-priced at $25-$35, for all county residents. Free if you qualify, call for details.
Pathmark-$30 flu shot
Target-get a 5% off coupon good for one day, when you purchase a flu shot.
Walmart-being offered at some locations, no promos listed. Check before you go.
Rite Aid-get a $100 coupon book when you get a flu shot.
Giant-listed on website that they are being offered, no price listed.
Philly Flu Shots-located in center city, $24
Philadelphia Health Dept-offering free flu shot clinics throughout the season, throughout the city.
If you are a veteran or use your local VA for medical care, they are offering clinics throughout the season, see your specific location for details.
Check your employer’s HR page on your website. Many employers offer them at low cost.
Kroger-offering flu shots for $25 if your location has a pharmacy.
Meijer-also offering for $25 if your location has a pharmacy.
Publix-flu shots are $30, see store for details.
Kmart-freebie offer is over (required $100 in purchases). Still offering them for fee. See store for details.
Free trial at Care.com + discount code + check out their anti-bullying campaign
I met Care.com when I went to Bloggy Boot Camp back in May. I thought that they were just a matchup service for babysitters. Wow! I was sooooo wrong! They have everything!
- babysitters, both ad-hoc and full-time daycare
- tutors
- housekeepers
- pet sitters!
- special needs care
- senior citizen care
Did you know they had all that? Well, right now, you can try them out for free for a trial period. After that there is a fee. Oh, and I almost forgot–it’s not just for families that are looking for care, but if you’re looking to earn some extra money or for employment, you can list yourself on there.
And, after Bloggy Boot Camp, they asked several bloggers to participate in an anti-bullying campaign and I was so happy to participate. I on there under my other blog, not this one, so maybe you won’t see me right away ;). I’m not going to give away the secret, because I’m really unhappy with how the photo turned out, ha!
Click on their logo to see all of what Care.com has to offer. From now until January 1, 2013, use the code 25MOVIE is you want to continue the service after the free trial. You’ll get a 25% discount with that code.
Need Extra Money?
Need extra money? Search through your house and ask yourself these questions.
What do you have that you haven’t used in 6 months or more?
What clothes do you never wear, have crammed in storage totes or the back of a closet?
What clothes did your kids outgrow?
What decor do you never use?
Jewelry you never wear?
Storaged items you never use?
Gifts you never used, and come on, let’s be honest, never will?
Holiday decor you aren’t planning to use or sat through 2 seasons un-used?
SELL THEM!!
Ebay, Craigslist, consignment stores, FB pages for selling in your local area, yard sales, seasonal kids’ clothing sales. Be creative. Don’t use just one outlet but try to cross-post smartly. Once you have your space organized with the things you want to sell it will make it much easier.
Make sure things are clean, unstained, all in one piece, and in good condition. If you have the packaging for it that is even better.
This summer I made $200 between 2 yard sales, $30 off a kids’ clothing sale, and approximately $30 through online networking with other locals through Facebook. It’s addicting. Thankfully most days I don’t feel like selling my kids. (JOKING – I wouldn’t want to sell my kids even on our worst days.) Even better, get your kids involved in selling. It’s a great way to teach them to be smart with money. This is especially beneficial when they have too many toys and want yet another new toy.
We would love to hear some of the ways you make money on the “stuff” cluttering up your house or a brag on your most awesome score. Please share in the comments below.
