Be on lookout for this booklet, and others

A friend and couponer alerted me to a coupon booklet available at Genuardi’s. In it, supposedly there are coupons for Ore Ida items that everyone is using at Giant this week to score free stuff. I dropped off baby at daycare and quickly headed out to Genuardi’s on a mission for the booklets. I can always use free/cheap tater tots!

I found a booklet, this one:

And figured I was done. I was going to go home, clip, figure out the deal and go either later today or tomorrow.  Wrong booklet! But it’s the only one I could find (Kennett store). It’s still a good find, lots of good coupons and they don’t expire until 12/31. There’s a good $0.75/1 Orville Redenbacher, which means if Acme runs another deal, should be a huge moneymaker on that. $1/1 Bisquick with no size restrictions, means free Bisquick and it includes the pancake mix bottles. Decent stuff, so worth picking up if you see them.

But if you do find the one with the Ore Ida coupons, will you tell me where you found it?

Peet’s Coffee Catalina

I had a nice little surprise at Superfresh today. First, I went in & did 2 transactions of oatmeal. After coupons I paid $5 for the first five boxes and $2.50 for the second five. Each time I got my $5 catalina and each time I got a $3 Peet’s coffee coupon.

I’m not brand loyal to coffee, but I will only drink a few brands–Starbucks, Peet’s, Seattle’s Best and a few others. The Peet’s was on sale for $7.99, or $4.99 after my coupons. And when I purchased them (with my regular weekly trip stuff) I got a $1.50 catalina back “courtesy of Peet’s coffee.” I don’t know if it took two bags to trigger it, or if it only takes one, but the deal doesn’t stack. Usually little catalinas like this are national, so if you’re choosing a coffee, you may want to try it.

Quaker deal at Superfresh (and other deals too)

And no, I don’t mean just a deal for card-carrying Quakers, ha ha. This is why I get excited about oatmeal deals. First, I’ve been eating Quaker Instant Oatmeal, Maple & Brown Sugar, for almost 40 years. I just love it. And my hubby and kids love it. If we eat it, on a chilly morning like today: I eat 2 packets, Hubby eats 4, 4year old eats 2, 1 year old eats 1. That’s 9 packets a day and there are only 10 packets in a box! If I paid full price for it, that’s almost $130/month, just for oatmeal.

So, I won’t pay more than $1 a box and anything less than that is my stock up price. This is the time to stock up on oatmeal as it doesn’t really go on sale much during spring/summer months.

The Superfresh/A&P chains have a buy $20 worth, get $5 back. Working on shelf prices. If you’re lucky enough to have a store that has $4.19 and up for shelf price, get five to hit the $20 threshhold. Then, it’s on sale for $2 per box, so without coupons, you’ll pay $10, get $5 back. Use the $5 certificate to complete any further transactions, and you’ll pay $5 cash out of pocket, get $5 back.

There aren’t too many coupons out there to go with this unfortunately. There was a $2 printable if you can find it. In boxes of oatmeal, if you have any in your pantry, there are $0.75 coupons in some boxes and they will double. And, there might be coupons out for other products in the Quaker family. All Quaker cereals are included such as Life, not just the oatmeal. But good luck, and $1 per box is a good deal for this even without coupons.

Here’s a LINK that may get you some printables, I’m having trouble loading it. But you can always check out my friend Heidi’s site at Printable Coupon Spot.

And when you’ve got all the cereal you need, look for the Swanson chicken broth deal. I plan on rolling my catalinas into that, it’s hard to find deals for it.  And make sure you pick up a 1/2 of butter for $0.99. Unfortunately limit is 1, but it sure is better than Acme’s sale price. The Earthbound organic salad is a good price, so are the chicken breasts and the steaks.

Definitely Superfresh for my weekly trip this week!
