Got Cool Whip?

Cool Whip is one of those items that’s very easy to get free, or even a moneymaker, with coupons. So usually couponers have it on hand. To the point, where we open our freezers and say “What the eff am I going to do with all this Cool Whip?” Many couponers have free Jello all the time too, but not me. I’d actually have to buy some.

Well, I got a recipe today from Tina who works at the Kennett Superfresh. She claims it’s very good and a great dip for kids. So here it is:

Two tubs of Cool Whip, defrosted
One six-ounce container of strawberry yogurt (or strawberry banana, or strawberry kiwi)
One box of strawberry jello mix

Mix the Cool Whip and the yogurt together. Add in the powdered Jello mix, to taste. Chill and serve with fruit to dip, like bananas, strawberries, kiwi, pineapple.

Tina also said you can make it, divide it, freeze it and reserve for later.

Superfresh Christmas clearance

I got my ads for next week in the mail yesterday. Nothing great as far as grocery deals. But the Superfresh ad states that their Christmas merchandise will be 75% off starting the 26th.

Area retail rumors

Note–these are just rumors I’ve heard, haven’t spoken with anyone at any of the companies or stores–

Walgreen’s-new store coming to Route 41 & Old Balt Pike, closing store at Penn Green Road.

Whole Foods-coming to site in Glen Mills where Genuardi’s used to be.

London Grove shopping center-I’ve heard tons of rumors, everything from Olive Garden (apparently couldn’t get a liquor license, but that doesn’t make sense) to Arby’s to a hunting/outdoors supply store.

I did read in the paper where Superfresh applied for zoning to expand their store in Longwood, which was stated that they need to compete because the Walmart is going to expand & convert to a super WM with food and stuff.

The old Acme shopping center-I heard that they were putting a Safeway in there, but that doesn’t make sense to me. Now practically all the stores have left–even Capriotti’s moved out to Longwood. Only the nail place and Dollar General is left. So who knows? I just hope it doesn’t sit there, abandoned. What an eyesore. But the McDonald’s is brand new, and surely they researched what was going to be there prior to rebuilding, right?

*3* Redbox rentals for a buck!

Details HERE.

I really like RedBox and use the one in the Avondale Acme all the time. This voucher is good until the end of March, so enough rentals to get us through a few snowstorms.

Thank you Groupon Delaware!
