current national catalinas, Feb/March

Here are some current catalina deals. I’ve gotten the ‘warning catalina’ for them at Acme, and I’ve seen other bloggers post them for other stores like A&P and ShopRite, so I feel comfortable saying that these most likely are at all stores that do catalina promotions. In most cases, I don’t see why they wouldn’t “roll” or why you couldn’t use them to do your next catalina deal.

Genuardi’s (Safeway) frozen food deal & other 5 day sale highlights

In my paper today (which is actually tomorrow’s paper), I got the ad for the new 5-day sale at Genuardi’s (part of Safeway chain).

The frozen food deal, looks promising, or it could be a bust–depends on if we can double dip on the deals.

Look for the frozen food coupon booklet they are advertising, there’s a picture of it in the ad. According to this, it looks like it will be based on sale prices, not shelf prices. I haven’t been to Genuardi’s in a while, if someone is positive it will work on shelf prices, please chime in!

First, prior to the 5-day sale, this is what Genuardi’s was advertising:

Ore-Ida Potatoes, 19 to 32-oz, $2.99 ea.
Buy Any 3, SAVE $3 Instantly when you use your Club Card to purchase Any Participating Gorton’s Items (14-24.5 oz) or Ore-Ida Frozen Potatoes (20-32 oz)
Purchases must be made in a single transaction between 2/16/11 – 3/1/11.

Now, the new sale states this: Save $5 instantly with minimum $15 purchase of ANY FROZEN ITEMS sold in store, with card and coupon. (caps theirs!) Excludes meat & seafood items.

To make it even better, there are frozen food coupon booklets out, and I’ve had quite a bit of luck finding them at the Kennett Square store. They are $1 off 1 or $1 off 2, depending on which variety you buy.

If the sales overlap when you use the in-ad coupon plus your card–
6 bags X $2.99=17.94 (do we dare try it on shelf price?)
If the $3 off 3 comes off, down to $11.94, and the $5 off $15 makes it $6.94. If you bought one of the varieties that qualifies for the $1 off 1 coupon, and you can find 6 booklets, you’re down to $0.94 for 6 bags of Ore Ida!

I have a toddler and a preschooler, so I’m enthused at the thought of cheap tater tots. $2 is pretty much my upper limit of what I will spend on a bigger bag of these, so I’d be ok with $1.15 if I can’t use the booklet coupons.

Also in the booklet, is a $2 off any 3 Eggo products, 5.3oz+. I don’t need Eggos, I’m still swimming in them from last summer’s Giant deal. But they are on sale for 2 for $5.  Six boxes would = $15. Minus two $2 coupons, plus $5 instant savings=$6 for six boxes of Eggos.

Green Giant veggies, on sale 3 for $5
9 boxes to get to your $15
Minus $5 instant savings=$10
In the 2/13 inserts, there were $0.60 off three boxes, which will double to $1.20
If you have one coupon, $8.80 for nine boxes, two coupons=7.60, three coupons=6.40, for nine boxes of veggies!
Better yet, here is a printable for $0.50 off one that will double. Another printable. Or use coupons.com banner at top of blog (affiliate link).

Kashi, $3.49
Printable
$1.50 off one! printable Must register first, then should be able to print two.

Wanchai Ferry-$6.49
Good printables, and another,  and another. I’ve never tried these, I had the PFChang’s ones, and they were just ok. Fine enough for a quick weeknight meal when we have stuff to do, but not fantastic.

Stouffers and Lean Cuisine are $2 each and you get a free Edy’s something (shake or smoothie) when you buy 5 of the meals. I don’t know if that freebie item would count towards your $15 or not, can’t hurt to try. The coupon booklet also has $1 off 3 coupons in it for these items.

Morningstar Farms is on sale for $3.69, there are almost always $0.75 off one tearpads at Acme, and they double. My older son likes the rice/veggie cakes, and it’s a healthier option for his lunches. printable $1 off one

Also in the ad, they’ve highlighted what you can combine with e-savings and paper coupons, specifically for Procter & Gamble products. The Swiffer rags are a good price.

I am going to try to get there tomorrow and get some Ore Ida, will report back what works.

Other items that are good prices:
Quaker instant oatmeal, 1.77
Cheezits, 1.88
Kellogg’s, 1.99; if Cinn Corn flakes are included, only $0.49 with this printable
poptarts 1.49 if your kids eat them and the mini ones are included, only $0.09 with this printable

Check out the items that are 9.99 each when you buy two. Specifically the Tide-because if you can stack that with the coupons in tomorrow’s paper, decent price. $0.50 printable for the Cottonelle.

Free water!

I never advocate buying bottled water, because of the cost and the damage to the environment. But, sometimes you just need to take it with you. Go to this facebook page and like it, then print your coupon. Take it to many of the grocers like Acme and I think Shop Rite, where the pods are $1 for eight. Or, free with coupon!

bricks link (maybe you don’t even have to go to fb)

Acme ad, Feb 25-March 3, highlights & matchups

Whoopdedo-they’re advertising a FREE 2 liter bottle of Sun Drop, Saturday only. I remember the last time they did this, it was that horrid orange something that tasted like fabric softener. Hopefully Sun Drop is better.

Ok, no catalina deals, except for the national cats that are running. I already posted the BC fruit snacks one, and the Cottonelle one. There’s a cat food one too, I have to dig it up & find it to post. Looks like this ad is mostly pushing $1 items and Acme brand products. For all of the Acme brand things, just keep checking your e-savings and Acme has been sending out printables. It may make some of this stuff cheaper. Also, please check coupons.com banner at top of blog for more printables.
