More deals at Acme, thru Wednesday only

I have a few offers on my Avenu that expire on Wednesday at midnight, so one more day to take advantage.

Danimals yogurt smoothies: Kevin loves these! They are on sale for $1.99 and I got an e-coupon for $1.25 off, so $0.74 for an 8-pack! Less than 0.10 a piece.

Haagen Dazs: If you’re an ice cream snob, and it’s ok, really, and don’t want the Edy’s, HD is a good deal. On sale for $3.00 a pint and I got $1.25 off each pint, limit 5. $2.75 is a good price for premium icecream.

Yoplait yogurt: I figured out how to maximize the yoplait deal. It’s on sale for 10 for $4.50, must buy 10. Buy 11-6 regular yoplait and 5 whips. Use two coupons from last week’s paper: the 0.40 off wyb 6 yoplait, and the one for a free yoplait whips wyb 4. The $0.40 coupon will double to $0.80 and they’ll take of $0.90 for the free Whips.
$5.40 is your subtotal; $4.50 for the 10, and $0.90 for the 11th.
-0.80 doubled coupon
-0.90 free Whips coupon
3.70 new total, divided by 11 yogurts is $0.33 a piece.

Hatfield pork: there is some really cheap pork in the back with $1 off coupons on it because it’s going to expire soon.

Hatfield hot dogs: bogo, and there are some packs with $1 off coupons on each one because they’re going to expire soon. I paid about $2.39 I think for 2 packs of hot dogs and stuck them in the freezer. Hot dogs have so many preservatives, I’m sure they’ll be fine.

cold/flu medicines on clearance

I was at both the Kennett Giant today and Landenberg CVS and saw many cold and flu meds on clearance. Both of those stores will take a coupon on a clearance item, so it will be very cheap! At Giant they were on a special table in the freezer dept, at CVS they were on the shelves with the other cold meds, but they all had larger hang tags that said either 50% or 75% off.

Acme Ad-begins 8/1

After a few disappointing weeks, this week’s ad is looking a bit better. Some really good deals that I see:

Hatfield Meats–all are 50% off, and there are lots of coupons out there, if you’ve been clipping them. My “meat” section of my coupon folder is filled with Hatfield coupons, so this could make for some good deals. Also, Hatfield e-coupons occasionally show up on my Avenu savings, so be sure to check there too.

Kellogg’s–Kellogg’s is running a “Buy 10 Kellogg’s items, save $5 instantly at checkout.” It appears the prices range from $1.25 for Poptarts to about $2 for other items. This Sunday’s paper will have a huge Kellogg’s insert but I don’t know what the specific coupons will be. In any event, it looks like we should be able to get 10 Kellogg’s items for less than $1 an item, after the discount and coupons. And there probably will be a mail-in-rebate (mir) in this Sunday’s paper, so the items could turn out to be free or a moneymaker. If you’ve been toying with the idea of asking friends & neighbors for their leftover coupons, so that you have multiples, this is the time to do it.

Pillsbury crescent rolls: advertised as 10 for 10, or $1 a piece. You don’t have to buy 10 to get that price. In last week’s paper, there were $0.35 coupons for these, which will be doubled to $0.70, so final cost is $0.30 for a tube of crescent rolls.

Softsoap handsoap: Also advertised for $1 each. I have two separate coupons for this, from last week’s paper. One is for $1 off 3, the other is for $0.35 off one, which will be doubled to $0.70. Depending on which coupon you have, the soap will be $0.30-$0.65 a bottle, not bad.

Yoplait
: 10 cups of yogurt for $4.50, or $0.45 each, must buy 10. I have two separate coupons for this as well. I have a buy 4 whips, get 1 free. That will make the final cost for 10 to be $3.60, or $0.36 a piece. I also have a save $0.40 off 6, which will double to $0.80. Final cost will be $3.70, or $0.37 a piece.

Proctor & Gamble— is running a deal, spend $20, get a $5 oyno. There also will be P&G coupons in this Sunday’s paper. Not a great deal, definitely not a stock-up price, but not too bad if you need the items.

Kraft singles
: are 2 for $6 and I have $1 off one coupons, I think from last week. $2 isn’t bad. And there’s another coupon in the flyer for Free loaf of bread wyb four kraft items.

Hot dogs–all hot dogs are bogo. There are lots of coupons out there for Oscar Mayer, check the IP websites. It also looks like the Oscar Mayer hot dogs will work towards the free bread deal, since Oscar Mayer is a Kraft brand.

Dannon-yogurt is on sale for 50% off. Check your Avenu savings daily, as Dannon offers frequently show up. Last time they did this I got 4-packs of Dannon for $0.34.

Beef tenderloin: $7.99 a pound, but you have to buy a whole tenderloin, so expect to spend $30-$40 on it. I’m on the fence whether or not I want to get one. We like to have them around the holidays, but I have seen them at Acme for as low as $4.99 and $5.99. So I may wait.

Some of the above mentioned coupons may also be found at coupons.com.

Grab a spoon…….it’s Edy’s time again!

Starting tomorrow at Acme, Edy’s is bogo. It’s $5.99. I just logged my card number into Avenu (link on right-hand side of this blog) and I got the e-coupon for $2 off Edy’s. Limit 2 per transaction. So your transaction will look like this:
$5.99 edy’s
$0.00 bogo edy’s
-2.00 e-coupon on one
-2.00 e-coupon on the other
$1.99 final total for two cartons of Edy’s.

This is how it’s been ringing up every time they offer this deal. This is the 3rd time this summer it’s been offered.

It says limit 2 per visit, but I have done 4, in two separate transactions, same visit, and it has worked.

Look around–there have been $0.50 coupons spotted on some freezer doors, which when doubled, means free! I have yet to find such a coupon, but $1 is cheap enough for me.
